Do you know that Nizwa, the old capital of Oman? The Nizwa Souq is among the largest of its kind in the country. Nizwa is about 140 km (87 mi) (1. 5 hours) from Muscat. Here you will visit the famous souk that bustles with vendors selling everything from meat, fish, fruits and vegetables to spices, dates, gold and silverware. Nizwa is renowned for its silver jewelry which is considered to be the best in the country. Opposite is the Nizwa Fort. The fort is a reminder of the town's significance through turbulent periods in Oman's long history. Aterwards, passed to Birakt Al Mouz. You can view a date plantation before heading up to Jabel Akdhar which is 2000 meters high above the sea level. This mountain is famous for its rose flowers and promengrade fruits. The villages of Saiq, Wadi Bani Habib (the village of the old houses) & Al Ain on our journey. The villages overlook a spectacular landscape of dramatic peaks, Gorges and Wadis.
