Hola, amigos. My name is Valentín. Writer by trade; tour guide by conviction. I've been a resident of Mexico City's Downtown area for almost twenty years. That's how I know the old tales people tell, I've also researched the city's history as a personal interest. It's a fascinating web of unbelievable circumstances and unpredictable odds, which has created one of the most diverse and energetic cities in the world. I'd love to share some of those insights with travelers interested in true Mexican culture. Bachelor's degree in Literature and Linguistics. Although I am not a certified tour guide, I am well-versed in matters of history and novelty in Mexico City. I have lived here for many years, so I'll be able to provide a unique experience from a local and authentic point of view. I also balance a career as a horror author, so I am keen to detail and narrative. Oh, the stories I could tell you. Oh, the sights I could show you. I am not a licensed guide, not able to access some historical monuments. I am not a driver, but I can arrange for a separate car and driver. I am not able to provide specialized medical assistance for travelers with difficult health conditions. I'll be glad to guide you through the wonders of Mexico City. Please send me a message if you have additional inquiries or if you'd like to arrange a customized tour. See you when you get here. Saludos.

Have you ever wondered how a familiar place looked like a year ago? A decade ago? A century ago? I have, that's the inspiration for the following tour. Mexico City's Downtown area is a place filled with history and mystery. A few centuries have gone by since the first settlers came to inhabit a lake that seemed unsuitable to sustain a simple village. But lo and behold, a civilization sprung from those humble origins. Then came the so-called "conquerors", although textbooks greatly exaggerated the influence of these controversial figures. Amongst them, Hernán Cortés is (undoubtedly) one of the most revered and hated characters. Get to know the route that this notorious conquistador took as he massacred the natives with his powerful army. I got curious about Cortés almost a decade ago, during my college years, so I've been able to explore and discover all the significant sites regarding his military campaign. Join me and learn all about it!
