Mexico City is within the biggest cities in the world and in its down town you can admire some of the most important buildings such as the main square "Zocalo", the old aztec temple "Templo Mayor" or the Metropolitan Cathedral. You can also see the changes that Mexico City has had through the ages, since Aztec times, the Spanish period to modern age. Walk by interesting and historic buildings, look at their fascinating arquitecture and see part of the culture that has been inherited through the years. You will learn a lot of Mexican history and will have a great time. Museums and some buildings are closed on Mondays.
Rogelio was absolutely amazing! The tour was SO informative AND fun. As art lovers, he took us to see some of the most famous pieces, and then we walked, saw the famous buildings, learned about the city, the architecture, the historical figures... overall the tour was amazing and we absolutely loved it. Had a fascinating tour with Rogelio. He is very kind and has vast amounts of knowledge on the history and culture of Mexico. Highlights included eating tacos al pastor at a small street taco stand, visiting the biggest bakery I have ever seen, and getting Rogelio's views on modern day Mexico. A fantastic day!
Our walking tour of the historic center with Rogelio was outstanding! He was flexible on what we wanted to see and we appreciated the pace. We didn't ever feel rushed. Rogelio has a wealth of knowledge of the country and the city's history. In addition to his story-telling, he uses a binder with reference photos we found helpful to understand the context of the sites. At the end of our tour, Rogelio also took us to one of the best taquerias in the area. Thank you for being our host!
Rogelio guided us on a walking tour through the Historic Centre and pointed out the historic significance of the buildings, monuments and parks. He also took great effort to arrange, at the last moment by our request, a tour to xochimilco. He was polite, his English was very good and he was interested in making sure we were pleased with our tour. I would request him again when we return to Mexico City.
Rogelio is an expert guide: he knows the Centro Historico in great detail and planned a perfect walking tour route, taking us to all the main sites that we expected to see as well as some incredible lesser-known areas. Also, he customized the tour based on my special interests, and he exceeded every expectation. He included. art, architecture, history, food, culture, and more.
