Photographs, movies, music, art, museums, travel, and walking are some of the things I enjoy a lot! Since I was a kid I liked history, watching documentaries and reading books. That passion grew in high school until finally, I decided to study History at the university. Also, something that I have always liked has been walking everywhere, allowing me to get to know better the places I go to. So my background in history, and hours walking around the city, make me a great option to get to know all the magical corners of Mexico City. As a historian, one specialization I took in my career was disclosure of history, bringing close historical knowledge to the non-specialist public by creating materials, tools, projects, exhibitions and, of course, guided tours. So I started to work as a guide just right after finishing university. First with school groups at museums, after with families, friends, and travelers on the streets, and finally I obtained the certificate from the Ministry of Tourism in Mexico Now I work all over the city, its museums, and the surroundings of Mexico City. What I love about my city is that you always have something to do, something to discover in its historical buildings, in the flavors of its markets, and in the people on its streets. Mexico City is the capital of this beautiful country, which is why it has witnessed the entire historical process that has gone through over the centuries. Together you will learn about its history, its artistic jewels in architecture and art, the social dynamics of its people, the flavors of the unique local Mexican gastronomy, and much more. Let me make your experience in Mexico unforgettable. I have a bachelor's degree in history by the National Autonomous University of Mexico and have been certified as a tourist guide by the Ministry of Tourism in México. I have taken refresher courses on archeology at the National Museum of Anthropology, in the same way I worked in this museum for 2 years. I have participated in historical dissemination projects, among them with the National Coordination of Historical Monuments. None as a guide I drive but I'm not a professional driver, so I usually hire a private driver to accompany us I only drive within the city, not on highways. For that I always hire a private driver

Overview of your Mexico City tour

In this tour we'll visit the house of one of the most iconic artists in Mexico and two folkloric zones in the City: the Frida Kahlo's House, the neighborhood of Coyoacan and the floating gardens in Xochimilco! Let's come to see Coyoacan, the bohemian neighborhood of Mexico City, where many renowned artists developed their lives and artistic work. Admire the gorgeous neo colonial architecture, the crafts of the artists and the atmosphere of joy. Inside Frida Kahlo's house we'll know about her history, her artistic production, her dresses and her relationship with Diego Rivera. Appreciate the colored boats and natural view of the canals of Xochimilco in a traditional "Trajinera". Let's enjoy the mariachi music, typical mexican dishes and drinks and have a nice time with family and friends. Don't wait more, let's spend a day surrounded by art, history, traditions, music, food, colors and fun!

Couldn’t recommend this tour with Ric more! He was so incredibly knowledgeable about the history of this area and provided very helpful context that you likely won’t get anywhere else. Everything was organized perfectly and we had so much fun! We ended up booking him for another tour of Teotihuacan that was also amazing.

The tour was fantastic and Ricardo was a wealth of information. We learned so much, not only about the sites we visited, but also about the culture and daily life of Mexico City. The festive atmosphere and colorful boats of our Xochimilco experience were unforgettable. The additional insights and information Ricardo provided about Frida Kahlo made our visit to her home extra special. Overall, Ricardo deserves six stars.

Wunderbar! For the non-German speakers, this means wonderful. My wife and I spent a fun, busy, yet relaxing day with Ricardo (Ric) touring the central plaza of Coyoacan, its old (some parts date to the 16th C) , Casa Azul (Frida Kahlo's life long home and now museum), Anahuacalli, Pre-Columbian Art Museum and Xochimilco, the 'Venice of . Ric's knowledge of all things Mexico, willingness to answer questions and warm and friendly are second to none. Don't think of using another guide while in CDMX.

This is a fun, interesting tour, Ricardo was great, speaks excellent English. The Frida Kahlo museum was very busy, even on a weekday, but still worth the stop. I could have spent the whole day exploring the Coyoacán area. Xochimilco was one of the most fun experiences I had the entire week I was in Mexico. Very relaxing. Great drinks and food while we were out on the water. Cool history and a festive vibe, don't miss the spot if you're visiting Mexico City.
