Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Trotsky tour with a private guide

I had a personalized tour in Mexico City with Mario. We went to the Palace of Fine Arts to see the Diego Rivera murals, Orazco and others. Mario explained the architecture of the building and the artwork and artists in great detail. It is a “must see” when you are visiting here. We walked to the fabulous post office, a Moorish design by the same architect who did the fine arts building. Inside the post office is a spectacular staircase which you can go up with a small admission fee. It’s well worth it. We walked along the pedestrian street, stopped at an art exhibit, and went all the way to the Presidential Palace. Had lunch at a nice restaurant overlooking the square and palace. It was a great day and Mario is a great and knowledgeable guide who speaks fluent English. So glad I took this tour.

We enjoyed our day with Mario, who is an experienced and professional guide (as it turns out his father and kin are also guides!). MArio was knowledgeable and our visit to three sites were all fullfilling and insightful.

We had a great day with Mario. He picked us up at our apt and drove us to the South side of the city. In addition to the museums, which were great, he showed some of the neighborhoods. The 16th/17th century origins of these areas are still visible. He also gave us a flavor of how people live in the area today, taking us through the city center and the market area. Mario was a very accommodating guide and the tour was a lot of fun.

Mario was excellent and provided the best all around tour of Mexico City we could imagine. His passion for Mexico came through and every minute was wonderful! I will contact him again next time we return. Mille Gracias.
