Welcome to Mexico! I am Diego a certified private tour guide in the Riviera Maya specialized in Mayan archaeology, nature and adventure. I was born and raised in Chiapas, Mexico, a place surrounded by natural beauties and indigenous communities. I remember that since I was a little child, I dedicated myself to explore the most beautiful corners of my country: rivers, waterfalls, archaeological ruins and climbing volcanoes. Now my job is to share these experiences with others and to raise awareness in preserving our natural resources. Life took me to many places, and 12 years ago I decided to move to Playa del Carmen looking for a relaxing life near the beach. It is beautiful to live here, surrounded by culture, cenotes and the most beautiful beaches of Mexico. Since I arrived here I have worked as a tour guide, a very noble work and I love it. I have guided tours to Mayan ruins, underground caves, Mayan communities, jungle tours with activities like canopy, rappel, ATVs, snorkelin and I had the opportunity to take the great travel writer Rick Steves on two amazing tours here in Riviera Maya! I have learned a lot about the Mayas, their flora, fauna, medicinal plants. I have even learned to speak their local language Maya Yucateco. Now I want to share all these life experiences with you through my private tours, taking you to unique places, giving you the best of the Mexican Caribbean in your next vacation! Jin wiquibaone waye mun xanta! (See you here soon!) -Degree in General Tourist Guide at INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History) certified as Tour Guide in English, Spanish. -Studies and practices specialized in Mayan Archaeoastronomy. -Tourist Driver License. -First Aid course and Water Rescue. My vehicle can fit up to 13 passengers comfortably - please inquire for larger groups

Diego made this trip worthwhile. His knowledge of the Mayan culture & the ruins was phenomenal. We sincerely loved learning about the culture & it's use of symbolism. He gave us very clear instructions on how & where to meet up. He made sure we got back to our cruise with time to spare. One of us had a slight mishap & he was prepared to give immediate First Aide. The van he used was comfortable & we appreciated the snacks & mandatory reusable water containers. Would not hesitate to take any tour with him.

If your travels take you to Playa del Carmen and you want to experience the ruins in Tulum, be sure to search out this tour with Diego V, you won’t be disappointed. We came off a cruise ship, and he made sure we got back in time for our Ferry to Cozumel. He is very knowledgeable and made our day extremely enjoyable, including an unscheduled stop for excellent tacos at an authentic Mexican restaurant.

Our tour with Diego in Tulum was unforgettable. He is an experienced guide who planned the day perfectly, allowing us to explore the Tulum ruins extensively and visit a hidden cenote. The cenote was a true treasure, with crystal-clear waters and breathtaking beauty, far from the usual tourist spots. Diego’s transportation was excellent—his vehicle was new and meticulously maintained, making the journey comfortable. His knowledge of the region is unparalleled; he shared fascinating insights about history and local customs in an engaging and friendly manner. Diego’s professionalism and warmth made the experience truly special. I highly recommend his tours for anyone seeking a unique adventure in Tulum.

Diego was an amazing guide for our tour to Tulum. He worked with our time constraints, accommodated our needs and was so knowledgeable. He was thrown a few curveballs by ticketing and new policies in the park, and worked to make it as seamless as possible for us-even packing his own personal water bottles for us to use once we learned that plastic is no longer allowed. 10/10 stars and would definitely book with him again.

Diego was an excellent guide for our family. My Mom has difficulty walking for long periods and he was very mindful of this, adjusting his tour to ensure she had places to rest. He was very knowledgeable of the Mayan culture and even incorporated visual aids to assist storytelling. Great for a cruise day trip, however, make sure you leave a good amount of time to get to meeting point in the AM since the port has 1 mile of duty free to navigate. Definitely recommend!
