In Nara, we’ll stroll through Deer Park among the sacred deer and enjoy the lively Mochi Pounding Show. In the afternoon, we visit stylish Kobe, where you may savor world-famous Kobe beef, explore vibrant Chinatown, and relax at Harborland by the sea. A perfectly balanced day of culture, flavor, and scenic beauty.
We had an excellent day with Zo in Nara and Kobe! He provided a great amount of information throughout our day together and was always actively listening for additional things to show us or introduce us to. From capturing our bowing deer interactions, to suggesting the BEST sakura ice cream, & making reservations for an unbelievable meal experience, he made our day really special and unique to us. We met Zo as planned at the Kii-Katsuura Station. He is a kind, friendly, excellent English-speaking tour guide. We are only English speakers, so I was happy Zo negotiated the bus schedule to the Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine, a spectacular Shinto shrine nestled in the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed the seeing the Three-storied Pagoda before walking the historic steps down to the base of the famous Nachi Falls. Zo pointed out awesome spots to photograph the surrounds and the falls in particular. Great day
09:00 AM – I will meet you at Kobe Port, your hotel, or a central station, and we’ll travel comfortably by express train to Nara. Nara (Morning) Visit Kofuku-ji Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and admire Todai-ji Temple, home to the Great Buddha (Outside view). Stroll through Nara Deer Park and along Mt. Wakakusa, where you can interact with the friendly deer and enjoy the peaceful scenery. Experience the lively Mochi Pounding Show, a fun and authentic local tradition. We then return to Kobe by train. Kobe (Afternoon) Optional Kobe beef lunch, one of Japan’s most celebrated culinary experiences.
