Are you ready to explore the most beautiful destinations in Campania and all along the Amalfi Coast, learning about our ancient culture and savoring our beloved cuisine? Southern Italy is the ideal place to relax and recharge your body and soul, without sacrificing any fun! We have it all — history, art, nature, tradition, amazing views, a relaxing daily life and, above all, wonderful local food. My name is Michael and I am an Amalfi-based tour guide. I run tours for individuals, families, and small groups incorporating my passion for art, history and the old traditions. I can also share anecdotes from travelers of the Grand Tour and gossip about the movie stars and film directors of la dolce vita, who were drawn in by the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. I would love to show you our hidden treasures — the atmospheric alleys and squares, soaring churches and cloisters, inspiring archeological sites, and fragrant lemon gardens — all the quirky details that make a tour on the Amalfi Coast memorable. You will enjoy the magical towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, the daily bustling atmosphere of Naples, the fascinating history of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the stunning beauty of Capri and Sorrento, the breath-taking landscapes of Path of Gods (il Sentiero degli Dei) or the Valley of the Mills (La Valle Dei Mulini), and more. I was born in Amalfi and still live among the lemon groves, many steps from the main piazza. After earning my high school diploma at the Technical Institute for Tourism "Flavio Gioia" of Amalfi, I graduated from the University "Istituto L'Orientale" in Naples with a degree in English Language and Literature I studied fine arts, history, archeology and local traditions at the University, as well as at the Center of Culture and History of Amalfi. In 1995 I took part in the publication of two guidebooks to Amalfi Coast. A few years later I got my license to be a certified tour guide for the Campania Region. Because I was born and raised here, I love to take guests off the beaten track to discover some of the little known but authentic places of Amalfi Coast, towns like Minori, Tramonti, Scala, and Pastena, to name a few. I take great joy in organizing walking or trekking tour among terraced lemon groves, vineyards, and olive and chestnut groves. All of my tours can be customized to your interests and curiosities. My goal is to make your guided tour the most enjoyable it can be. Join me in a unique opportunity to live an unusual experience, basking in the glories of the Amalfi Coast! Revel in Amalfi's ancient landscape of white houses among green lemon groves that hang over a clear blue sea. Would you join me? We will stroll through old lanes of town, weaving under the towering Romanesque façade of Saint Andrew's Cathedral. A few steps ahead and we will visit my grandfather's lemon farm. I will share ancient techniques of lemon production, tales from my family, all coupled with the authentic flavors of a fresh lemonade at the belvedere over Amalfi. Walking through the valley you will enjoy the lovely Amalfi countryside, and visit the area's oldest lemon farm and its museum and its home-made limoncello factory. The tastes are exquisite. On the way back to the Piazza Duomo we will visit a 14th century paper mill reborn as a fascinating museum. An inside tour will show you machinery in operation for centuries and how handmade paper was originally produced. An off-the beaten-path experience, discovering old tradition and plunging yourself into the true soul of Amalfi!
