Ciao! My name is Gaetano , and I'm your Professional tour leader & hiking guide in the breathtaking regions of Southern Italy: the Amalfi Coast, and the Cilento area. Growing up in the small town of Cava de' Tirreni, surrounded by mountains and a few minutes away from the Amalfi Coast, nature became an integral part of my life from an early age. My passion for the outdoors, coupled with a deep love for my homeland's culture and history, led me to pursue a career in Tourism. After completing my education in Political Sciences, I traveled extensively throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, as well as Central and South America. After seven years leading overland tours on the five Continents, winning a Silver Award at the 2011 Wanderlust World Guide Awards, and three years guiding in Europe, I decided to move back home and guide tourists in Southern Italy. My mission is to create authentic, meaningful connections between my guests and the natural wonders of Southern Italy. In fact, I can create tailor-made itineraries, with local experiences, according to your needs. The Path of the Gods hike takes you along the Amalfi Coast, where you'll be able to admire one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world. The first part of the hike offers outstanding sightings of Praiano, Positano, Li Galli islets and Capri's island. Along the trail, elm and oak trees provide shade with hints of myrtle and juniper in the air. I will teach you about this area's history, flora & fauna and I'll share some of our legends with you. During this guided hike, we'll meet a local shepherd for a Food Experience: delicious vegetables from his garden, as well as cold cuts, will try some goat cheese, bruschetta, spaghetti with fresh tomatoes & a glass of home-made wine. BEAR IN MIND: -This hike is " E ", Moderate, not steep, we walk on rocks, soil and roots coming out from the soil. -Please wear hiking shoes or sneakers with a good grip. - This is a loop, starting and ending in Agerola. Gaetano is amazing! My clients had the best time with him. Before the hike, he was in touch to re-confirm services. Throughout the hike he accommodated their dietary needs. Clients had a service animal with them and we are certain Gaetano has a new furry friend! The shepherd's hut was a real treat and the food/views were incredible. Can't say enough how wonderful he is. He was very friendly, knowledgeable of the trail and of the plants of the region, made us feel welcome and had a good sense of humour. The path of the Gods is a beautiful trail with amazing views. Our hike with Gaetano along the Path of the Gods was one of the best things we did in Italy! If you enjoy physical exercise, seeing ruins, learning about local fora, and eating simple, fresh food while stunning views, this tour is for you. The service was excellent, and my 17-year old niece and I enjoyed this tour from start to finish. We learned so much on this incredibly special day; a highlight of our time in Italy. Gaetano also recommended things to do and a restaurant in Amalfi. The restaurant was the best food we had in Italy. Thank you, Gaetano, for an amazing experience.
Gaetano was wonderful. So helpful with collecting us and dropping us at our Villa. He explained so much about the Amalfi Coast on our drive up to the starting point of our tour. The tour itself was great and we learnt so much on our hike, not only with the views but also the herbs, fruit and nuts growing wild on our path. The shepherds lunch was really nice and so welcome. If you visit the Amalfi Coast and are fit enough for the five mile round trip, this is a must do excursion. The views were spectacular.
Gaetano is the best!! We hiked Path of the Gods with Gaetano and he was extremely knowledgeable about the history and the local issues of the area. Gaetano was very friendly, professional and fun…absolutely a really nice guy. Half way through the hike we got to stop at the Shephards home for an authentic lunch and music surrounded by the beautiful views of the mountains and Amalfi coast ocean. Gaetano payed great attention to our safety during the hike by providing walking sticks and a safety briefing. Along the way, we had interesting conversations about the vegetation on the mountain. -Once we've gathered and are all together, we'll start our hike from the hamlet of Bomerano, in the town of Agerola. -In Agerola we'll pass the Biscuit Grotto, where people from Prehistoric Time were living. -Our path will continue crossing wild precipices, full of caves and small vineyards. - We'll take the upper trail, where we'll have a different view from the lower one. -Along the way, we'll check out all the terraced gardens, with wines from Marisa Cuomo vineyard. - Some time after that, we'll be able to see the beautiful town of Positano, known also as the Vertical town. -Halfway through, we will stop at the Shepherd's hut, check his goats, and have a Food & Wine Experience, before continuing on our journey. ·Then we'll continue on the lower Path to go back to Bomerano. -Half way through we'll be able to admire the amazing town of Praiano, and its Dominican Monastery from the IX century. - Finally we'll be back in the Capasso square and get back to our Van.
