The scenery along the way and at the lake is breath taking. The tour however would work best outside of the peak holiday season. The roads were busy and that meant the driving took longer which ended up cutting into the time for the tour itself.
We started out as strangers, but shortly after we became really good friends. As a Singaporean, the ability to communicate in Bahasa made the whole trip more enjoyable than it should. Lian is such an awesome guy and his driving skills are excellent. I never thought I would get a chance to visit Lake Toba as a single traveller, but Tours by Locals did a great job and fulfilled my wish. Lian is like a good brother and friend to me. Early morning on 6:00 am pick up you to the hotel than drive to lake toba via tebing tinggi, On the way stop at panatapan enjoying the view of lake toba then cross by ferry to samosir island. Visit the batak toba traditional houses, tomok village, ambarita village, simanindo village, Then cross back to the main land from simanindo port to tigaras, Then continue drive to simarjarunjung hill, visit tea plantation and Drive back to medan.
