Hello, and welcome to Munich! After living in Munich for more than 20 years I decided to turn my passion for history (and stories) into my new profession. So I started the training to become an official licensed tour guide in Munich and after some blood, sweat and tears finally got the license to guide guests in my most favorite city in Germany. Most surprising for me was, that even though I knew most of the sites and had seen them regularly, I hadn't understood what those buildings or paintings meant, because I hadn't known the history behind it. For several years now, I love to show this city with all the highlights and hidden gems, the architecture and the novelties - and the story and history behind it. Let me tell you about the little quirks and traditions in Germany, Bavaria and Munich and see this city through my eyes. And then hopefully you will understand, why I love this city so much. Overview of your Munich tour
This tour can take place only between September 20th and October 5th 2025. Since the Wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig in 1810, Munich is famous for hosting the biggest folk festival - some might even call it a beer festival. But let me tell you how it all started, and after some facts and figures you might be a bit surpised to see the real thing. But most important for me is, that you get to experience the Oktoberfest - from do's and don'ts to the correct way to dress and must see's. Don't miss the chance to experience this with a real local and see things and ways, you otherwise might miss. Looking forward to getting you an overview and insights to this highlight in Munich - but please check the dates, because even though it's called Oktoberfest it normally starts in the middle of September. Why? That's a funny story... shall we start with our tour, then I can tell you more about that?
Your Munich tour itinerary
We'll meet outside of the fair ground, I'll bring us all in, then we're going to get an overview of the area, see the lane with the fun rides and also the lane with the beer tents. We'll go inside at least one of the beer tents, but this tour does not include a reservation with a table and/or drinks or snacks. I can customize this tour according to your requests.
