Tour Guide for now nine wonderful years, I am a very positive and ongoing person. It is really hard to get away the smile from my face ;o) When I decided to get my guiding license, more than 9 years ago now, I thought first, that it could be a summer job while on holiday from teaching, but I quickly realized what a great job guiding can be. I use to say, that now, my students are older than before, and are now really very interested in what they want me to speak about. Even better. I started doing tours for friends from California, years ago, then friends of their friends, and I now take people on my tours who become friends ;o) I live in in Normandy, where I was born, but I also lived in Paris, in the US , and in some other countries. That gives me the ability to understand other cultures and to adapt myself. Yet, Paradise is for me "here" in the green pastures of Normandy. Both my grandparents lived through the German occupation, and both were in the French Resistance. I have a very strong connection to my region. That really started my passion for digging in the past. After an education in Normandy, I went studying History and Journalism in Paris at the Sorbonne. As a real History buff, I have created some unique itineraries no one else did before me, like the real Viking tour on the footsteps of the Vikings of Normandy. I try as much as possible to do things the best I can. I am a perfectionist, and I assume. I am married and have two lovely daughters. Besides my family and my job, I love horses. In this full day tour from Rouen delve into the amazing past of Normandy's castles and Abbeys. Graduated from the Sorbonne University in History ( MA ) and a with a real passion for Medieval History, I will take you through the streets of Rouen to discover Rouen's cathedral, Gros Horloge, and Joan of Arc legacy. Having ancestors who fought in the crusades, the history of Richard the Lion Heart and his amazing Chateau Gaillard means a lot to me. I would love to show you this real Crusader's castle overlooking the Seine river. But Normandy would not be Normandy, without the Vikings and their heir, the great William the Conqueror. You will also explore two very important abbeys, William loved, and also where he married Mathilda of Flanders, the women he loved so much. In Jumièges Abbey I will show you, 1200 years after they did it, the marks of the destructions led by the Vikings. This full day tour is perfect for those seeking to deepen their knowledge of France and Normandy.

-8. 30AM ROUEN -8-30 - 11AM Visit of Rouen Historical Center : Notre Dame Cathedral . Extensive visit of the Cathedral. Rue du Gros Horloge Visit of the Gros Horloge, the first clock of France, built in 1389. -12AM Chateau Gaillard - The Castle built for protecting Normandy from France while Richard was coming back from Jerusalem. A real " Krak " The symbol of the fall of Normandy to France in 1204. -1PM Lunch below Chateau Gaillard Castle. 3PM Jumièges Abbey - The first Abbey of Normandy, destroyed by the Vikings in 845 AD. -4. 30- 6PM St Georges de Boscherville - The most preserved Normandy's Abbey. The walls of the church of the Abbey still have the original paintings and sculptures from the 11th Century. -6. 30-7PM Back in Rouen.
