I have known the region and its vineyard since childhood as my family owns a beautiful wine estate based between Sète and Montpellier. Obviously I love good wines and good food and I enjoy cooking and share good meals with friends. I also like gardening to grow my own fresh herbs and vegetables. With a wine degree I have started to work in wine industry more than 20 years ago, working in wine shops and wine bars. As I like to meet people and share my passion I have then started to work as a wine guide 3 years ago. It is a great way to share my knowledge of wines from the Languedoc and the secret places of our beautiful region. The Languedoc wine region is the largest in France and produces a great variety of wines presenting an amazing value for money. Around Montpellier you can visit the famous and beautiful Pic Saint Loup wine region, or the Thau lagoon where we have oyster production that combines very well with our Picpoul de Pinet crisp white wine or even the quaint medieval village of Saint-Guilhem-le-désert and its fabulous wines. I would be also pleased to show you the city of Montpellier itself, its medieval history and the château winery, so-called "Folie" where the gentry of time had their summer house. I am of course ready to customize tours according to your wishes, for example if you want to discover the local gastrnomy (markets, cheeses, olive oil. . . ) or the local heritage (city of Sète, Pont du gard, roman arena in Nîmes. . . ). In a typically Mediterranean landscape, visit of the charming city of Sète known as the little venice of the South, enjoy beautiful views over the sea and the lagoon, then wander around the lagoon to taste the oysters and the wines of our family winery. I'll personally pick for you a special and secret place near the Thau Lagoon, only known by the locals. It's a small oysters farm (a family business) and I'll explain the process involved in oyster farming. . . you'll be surprised to learn :) You won't be able to taste fresher oysters in another place! They come directly from the lagoon to your plate - this is a one of a kind experience! I will then drive you to my family vineyard to enjoy a tasting of our wines confortably seated under the wooden pergola facing the vines.

We enjoyed getting to know him while he showed us the area, the lovely city of Montpellier, and the charming city of Sete. He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the region. I would book with him again!
If you'd like to spend a wonderful day soaking up the culture and food of Sete, this is the tour for you. On a 1 out of 10, I'd rate it a 12. Marc met us at the ship and we were immediately taken by his personality and willingness to structure the day to our liking. We were happy to follow his lead. A stop at a local market immersed us in local flavors and daily life. Our visit to a working oyster farm was amazing, as were the oysters, olives, cheese and wine. More views of the countryside led us to his family vineyard. Sitting on his patio overlooking the fields we learned about and savored his wines along with treats from the market purchased with our tastes in mind. We felt like we were out visiting with a friend.
What an amazing day! Starting with a stroll through town & visit to the market where we enjoyed the freshest croissants, a ride out to a the local oyster farm for the most delicious oysters finishing and finishing the day at the family farm winery for outstanding wines, cheeses & meets. Our guide Marc was outstanding-knowledgeable, personable & funny! Our group had the best time! Merci beaucoup Marc!
The four of us had a fantastic day with Marc in Sete. We started with a tour of the old town and the historic canal. We sampled local wine and cheeses while there. We then had a wonderful lunch of oysters and mussels at an oyster farm. What a great experience learning about the oyster industry. Marc then took us to his vineyard where we sampled his fine wine and received an education on winemaking. From there we went to a local vineyard for more samples and education. Thank you Marc for a great day and your wonderful hospitality! And say hi to Pistachio for us!
I will pick you up at the boat or at your accomodation. We will start the day with the visit of the charming city of Sète known as the little venice of the South, walk along the canals to reach the lively food market and try some of its delicious specialities (food sampling not included): la tielle (a seafood pie with octopus cooked in a spicy tomato sauce), cheeses, olives, cold cuts, zezette de Sète biscuits or oysters. . . I will then drive you up to the Mont Saint Clair with my minivan to enjoy a beautiful view over the lagoon and the mediterrannean sea. We will then drive to the other side of the Thau lagoon to visit an oyster and shellfish farm. Learn about this little known production and, comfortably seated with the wonderful view on the lagoon and Montsaint Clair, enjoy a tasting of 6 oysters with a glass of the typical crisp white wine of the region, the Picpoul de Pinet. (included). I will then drive you to my family winery to taste our range of wines.
