Such a great day was had by all!!! Marc hosted our group of 4 couples for one of our favorite tours while on our recent Mediterranean cruise stop in Sete. Marc picked us up in a very comfortable van perfect for our party of 8. Montpellier was a beautiful city filled with history and we enjoyed a great lunch at an authentic french restuarant in a beautiful outside garden. It was a national holiday, so the château winery was not open. Instead, we were treated to a tasting class and tour of Marc's family vineyard! Such a beautiful setting and home to enjoy a walk through the vineyards and enjoy wonderful wine! We will be recommending this tour to friends for years to come! We even made a brief stop for some fresh oysters for our oyster loving friends on our way back to the ship! What a perfect day we had with Marc!

I have known the region and its vineyard since childhood as my family owns a beautiful wine estate based between Sète and Montpellier. Obviously I love good wines and good food and I enjoy cooking and share good meals with friends. I also like gardening to grow my own fresh herbs and vegetables. With a wine degree I have started to work in wine industry more than 20 years ago, working in wine shops and wine bars. As I like to meet people and share my passion I have then started to work as a wine guide 3 years ago. It is a great way to share my knowledge of wines from the Languedoc and the secret places of our beautiful region. The Languedoc wine region is the largest in France and produces a great variety of wines presenting an amazing value for money. Around Montpellier you can visit the famous and beautiful Pic Saint Loup wine region, or the Thau lagoon where we have oyster production that combines very well with our Picpoul de Pinet crisp white wine or even the quaint medieval village of Saint-Guilhem-le-désert and its fabulous wines. I would be also pleased to show you the city of Montpellier itself, its medieval history and the château winery, so-called "Folie" where the gentry of time had their summer house. I am of course ready to customize tours according to your wishes, for example if you want to discover the local gastrnomy (markets, cheeses, olive oil. . . ) or the local heritage (city of Sète, Pont du gard, roman arena in Nîmes. . . ). Overview of your Montpellier tour
From Sète : Visit of the old medevial city center of Montpellier, the largest pedestrian area in Europe. Learn about its history and main monuments during a walking tour then have some free time for lunch and shopping in this charming and lively city. In the afternoon I will drive you to a beautiful "Folie" dating back from the 17th century, this was the name given to elegant houses located in the countryside and surrounded by magnificent gardens, used as sumptuous summer houses by the gentry of the time. You can't miss it! I will guide you through the gardens, the cellar and taste the wines at the end of the tour to make some unforgettable memories!

Your Montpellier tour itinerary
From Sète : I will pick you up in the morning with an air-condionned minibus and drive you to the old city center of Montpellier for a walking tour in the narrow streets of this medieval town. We will walk around the "place de la Comédie", "Opéra Comedie", the "three Graces fountain" built in 1773, then discover the "Tour de la Babotte", a relic of the 12th-century fortifications around the historic centre, we will walk up to the "Arc de Triomphe", the old town main entrance built in 1691 in honour to Louis the 14th, pass by the Saint Pierre Cathedral, one of the most impressive monuments of the city built in 1364. You will then have free time for lunch (not included ) In the afternoon, we will go back to the minibus and I will drive you to a beautiful château winery, a so called "Folie "dating back from the 17th century. You will wander through the lush french garden, visit the cellar and end with a tasting of their range of wines.
