Travel back to June 6th, 1944 and discover the story of the Allied landings in Normandy through the most important American D-Day sites. During this full-day private tour, we will explore the dramatic cliffs of Pointe du Hoc, walk on Omaha Beach, visit the moving Normandy American Cemetery overlooking the sea, and discover the remains of the Mulberry Harbor in Arromanches. During the drive to our first stop, and if you are interested, I will provide a brief introduction to the origins of World War II and the events leading to D-Day, helping you fully immerse yourself in the historical atmosphere before arriving on the battlefield sites. As a local Normandy guide, I will share both the major historical events and the personal stories of the soldiers who fought here. A lunch stop will be included in a charming local restaurant along the coast.
