Dday Beaches Tour from Cherbourg

Let's see what the American soldiers had to face of and where some brave men were put to rest forever. The Normandy heritage is full of treasures to discover, such as the cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer, a magnificent site of remembrance and meditation overlooking Omaha Beach. We'll also be visiting Sainte Mère Eglise and the incredible stories of the US paratroopers.

We'll begin with a morning pickup to then drive for around an hour and a half to the D-Day sites. •On our way there, I'll have time to put the Overlord Operation into a global WW2 perspective for you, explaining the main reasons for the importance of the D-Day, as well as why the Allies picked Normandy as a position to start the attack. •Next, we'll reach Battery of « Pointe du Hoc », of the Rangers' attack on the cliffs. •Afterwards, we'll visit Omaha Beach, the site of D-Day's bloodiest battle. •We'll then have lunch near OMaha Beach area. •Later, we'll visit the US cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer, the largest military cemetery in Normandy. •On the way back, we'll focus on the airborne sector (airdrop of the paratroopers' divisions in the Normandy countryside) with a stop in Sainte Mère Eglise •At last, we'd return to where we started.
