Iorana, my name is Patricia and I will be your tour guide on Easter Island! Easter island or Rapa Nui as it is named by the locals, has such a rich Polynesian culture and history that touring with an experienced guide is a must. We pride ourselves in being part of an ancestral culture that is still alive, the sacred energy of the ancestors still being present on every corner of this island, in its people, its landscapes and the ocean. I am a certified local guide with fifteen years of experience. I lived in Australia for ten years and finished my studies there, so I am a fluent English speaker. My speciality are private tours. My training began as an assistant guide to leading archaeologists where I learned about the archaeology and anthropology of Easter island in-depth. Having been raised on the island I have the background information on oral tradition and everyday island living. I am also a mother, I love cycling and water activities so I try to get out and practice as much as possible. This island has beautiful weather so that's always a possibility. I have a fun and easygoing personality and I love my job so I try to pass on all that passion to each and every one of my clients! Come and visit Easter Island with me and experience the magic of an unforgettable destination! I am a certified local guide, authorized by the administration of the Rapa Nui National Park to work within the sacred sites. I have been a guide for just over twenty years. My tours are pre-designed for 2 people, please enquire for bigger groups.

Easter Island is more that just Moai statues, this tour will show you just that! We will travel past the rocky coast and deep blue colored waters of this volcanic island and also through its inner hills with more than 70 volcanic formations. One of the highlights will be Ahu Akivi with its astronomically oriented platform and restored statues which can also be explained by the island's oral tradition. Vinapu with its perfect ancestral architecture that will remind you of the Peruvian ruins. Finally the Tangata Manu or the birdman ceremony held at Orongo with the perfect view of the Motus where once upon a time dozens of migratory sea birds nested in the time of spring and where a great cultural change occurred during the 18th and 19th century.

The Orongo and Aku Akivi tour was our second tour with Patricia. She blew our minds with the Easter Island Wonders Tour and we were just as impressed by her knowledge on this tour. Rapa Nui is truly one of the most interesting places on the planet with a totally unique history. We are grateful to have found Patricia to teach us the in depth knowledge we were seeking. We cannot stop marveling at what we learned!
Patricia gave us an incredible, perfect day that we will always remember and cherish! She was extremely knowledgeable about Rapa Nui history and culture, and tailored her tour to our needs beautifully. Thank you!!
Back in September I visited Rapa Nui with my dad for four days, and we spent two of those days with Patricia as our guide. It had been rainy and foggy for most of our trip, so I was nervous about being able to see the sites, especially since we only met Patricia on our third and fourth days. But Patricia was incredible! Within the first five minutes of meeting us, she came up with a plan to rearrange our schedule and make the most of the better weather on our last day. She even took note of my camera and made sure I got the best angles for photos. Her deep knowledge of Rapa Nui’s culture, the history of the sites we visited, and her thoughtful recommendations truly made our trip unforgettable. Despite the challenging weather, Patricia ensured we didn’t miss a thing. I can’t recommend her enough to anyone visiting Rapa Nui—she’s exceptional!
Pretty much the same as our previous tour with Patricia: Our experience can be summed up in three words: Best. Guide. Ever. This was a bucket list tour for my bucket list destination. I have spent years wanting to visit Easter Island and Patricia made every minute of our visit absolutely awesome. Not only did she give us a wonderful and engaging history of the island and its moai, but she was well versed in the current history of Easter Island and the Rapa Nui people. Orongo in particular was a magical place and Patrician did it justice in all aspects. She even moved the tour to a day earlier so that we would not be precluded from our visit by possible high winds the next morning. My advice: this is the person you want guiding you in this most special of places. Book early so you won't be disappointed, and know that you are in for a marvelous experience.
Patricia is the most knowledgeable and detail-oriented tour guide we’ve ever had. She presented everything with a great deal of care, respect, and specificity wherever possible. We chose this tour for our second full day on the island after doing Patricia’s other tour called Easter Island Wonders. It was great continuation of the first day to learn about how the birdman ceremony arose as the moai ancestor worship declined. If you have time on the island, we highly recommend doing this tour as a supplement. Overall, Patricia went above and beyond for us. She even helped us coordinate with another guide an 8-hour hike into the northern part of the national park that is less explored. We are excited to have found her.
The tour begins when I pick you up from the hotel to visit the archaeological complex of Tahai, then we head inland to Ahu Akivi, the only moai platform that faces the sea. Continuing the inland route we reach Puna Pau, the quarry where red topknots or pukao were made. We can stop for lunch back in town or continue the tour in one go. We continue to the south coast of the island to visit the Vinapu site with toppled statues to learn about perfect building techniques of the Ahu. We finally head for Rano kau crater and the ceremonial village of Orongo. Return to the town of Hanga Roa and the hotel.
