Hello, my name is Robert but everyone calls me Bobby. I am a retired bus driver, living most of my 72 years on PEI. I've been a tour guide for ten years, certified for five. I have a wealth of knowledge, having worked most of my life in the travel industry. I love PEI and I love showing it to people. I have upgraded my training with TAPEI refresher courses every spring, for the last five years. Travel north from the city along the scenic East River, passing through farmland and countryside. Visit three seaports, with photo stops near lighthouses and fishing boats. Explore the Dunes Gift Shop and Art Gallery for local art and souvenirs. Continue to South Rustico, home to PEI’s oldest church and bank, then head to the busy harbor of North Rustico, a vibrant village near Green Gables. Follow the coastal highway past red cliffs and beaches on the way to Cavendish. In Cavendish, tour the historic Green Gables House, inspiration for Anne of Green Gables, and browse the gift shop. Visit Lucy Maud Montgomery’s grave, then head to New London, where the author was born. Stop in Park Corner at the Lucy Maud Montgomery Museum, with time for photos at French Village Port. Continue along the coast to Kensington to see the historic train station and visit a local pub. Finally, travel south through farmland back to Charlottetown, where the tour ends with a brief drive past the city’s historic landmarks.
We met Bob at the cruise terminal and began a customized outing that took us around the island. He was v accommodating. He had water available; asked if we required a stop at different points; has a nice clean vehicle; an excellent driver. He shared interesting historical tidbits about the “birthplace of confederation”. PEI is his home and he is proud of it. Lovely gentleman.
Bob was awesome. We saw all the major sites of PEI and he “Taylor-ed” our tour specifically just for us. It was great to hear the history of PEI, hear how things have changed, and hear firsthand from a local. Would recommend anyone to be it in Bob’s care!
Robert was so accommodating! He shared tons of stories about his life in the island as well as facts about the history of the area. He showed us all the sights and gave us enough time at each place to enjoy. We would highly recommend Robert for any tour!
