Good morning from Bulgaria! My name is Momchil and I am a private guide based in Ruse. Since 2004 I have been showing English speaking guests round beautiful Bulgaria. Overview of your Ruse tour
Our tour starts with a short panoramic tour of Ruse - the Small Vienna. Then we drive to Sveshtari Thracian Tomb - an extremely rare and very well preserved monument. It is a unique artistic achievement with its half human, half vegetable caryatids. The experts of UNESCO stated that the tomb has an "outstanding universal value". The world-famous culture of the ancient Thracian people developed on the territory of present-day Bulgaria. They were fearless, with a sense of beauty and also made incredible red wine - true predecessors of the Bulgarians nowadays. Then we continue to Demir Baba Teke or the Tomb of the Iron father. Demir Baba was a saint who performed many miracles and nowadays his temple is a sacred place for both Christians and Muslims. We feel the power of the place and hear legends about the unpredictable, but enlightened behaviour of Demir Baba. Travel back to Ruse and lunch with a wine tasting.
