Hi! My name is Kathy and I am an American, now retired in Antigua. I love living on a tropical island, and especially one that has little or no corruption! I am a retired counselor/teacher and have worked in the U. S. , Malawi, Zambia, South Korea, and the Dominican Republic. However, my first love is travelling and going on adventures, and that is why I joined ToursByLocals! I have visited 39 countries, and Antigua is one of the best! Since I have travelled a lot and worked as a tour guide the past 4 years in the Dominican Republic , I know what tourists like and what makes a good tour. It all depends on the preferences of the visitors, and this is my specialty. . . I am very experienced in designing customized tours. I have developed tours for visitors in all the countries I have lived in, and love meeting new people, learning about new cultures and providing a service to make sure the clients have a safe and enjoyable experience. I am a friendly, outgoing, fun-loving, adventurous, organized, but flexible and resourceful person, my clients and friends always comment on how calm I am in crazy traffic, unpredictable circumstances and problem situations. . . I think living in Africa for 20 years helped with that! I have been to many amazing places in Antigua and would love to show you them; from pristine beaches, beautiful swimming pools, great food and water sports to natural beaches with crystal clear blue waters and mountainous areas with hiking and beautiful scenery. Overview of your Saint Johns tour
Explore Devil's Bridge a fantastic rock formation on the coast. There are several legends about the use of the bridge during slavery. Shirley Heights in one the tallest hills in Antigua and can be hiked up and/or down on the Jones Trail. Driving both ways is a popular option too! It has glorious views of English Harbor. At the top there is an Interpretive Center that explains the history of Barbuda and fort ruins. Also, if interested in more history, we can go to Nelson's Dockyard. At Nelson's Dockyard there is a museum of the Royal Navy ships and Royal Navy historic buildings. There is also a boat taxi that can take us on a tour of English Harbor and Pillars of Hercules. Galleon Beach is famous for it's snorkeling off the beach to see a shipwreck! Also, you can lounge in the sun, swim or snorkel from the shore. Lunch can be overlooking the harbor and beach at the upscale Loose Canyon or if you want a more local restaurant, Zelma's Kitchen overlooking Fulmouth Harbor and its many yachts.

9:30 Pick Up from hotel, resort or cruise ship 10:00 View Long Bay and then travel to Devil's Bridge. 11:00 Drive with scenic views along the coast to English Harbor. 12:00 Hike or drive up or down Shirley Heights, a hill overlooking the sailboats and yachts of English and Falmouth Harbors. Visit an Interpretive Center to learn about the history and culture of Antigua 1:00 Choose from a variety of places for lunch, 2:30 Visit Nelson's Dockyard or snorkel to see a shipwreck and sea life or relax and on Galleon Beach. 15:30 Return to Hotel or Cruise Ship ** This itinerary can be customized to suit your needs and interests.
