Discover Prince Edward Island with Sonya P. ! I was born and raised in Beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada. I grew up until the age of ten on a large potato/tobacco farm in the Eastern part of the Island in a community called Belfast. Fun Fact: Belfast, PEI is home to one of the largest Scottish immigration's outside of Scotland arriving on the Island shores in 1803. Many folks living here today can trace their ancestry back to those first original settlers, Sonya is among one of those descendants on her Mothers side . The original stewards of the land are the mi'Kmaq people who are still a vibrant part of our Island culture and history. I have worked in many industries over the years such as a Professional Server, Golf Course Owner ( Avondale Golf Course in Eastern PEI ), Co Owner of an irrigation company for 20 years, Lobster Fishing as a Cork, Professional Driver Out West on The Ice Roads, and in Education as a Sub Teacher, EA Sub and a Sub School Bus Driver. A lot of our industries here on the Island are seasonal so being a Jackie of all trades has served beneficially to remaining employed year round as well as providing lots of know how and knowledge in many different sectors of our Island's industries. I love Prince Edward Island and I make each one of my tours passionate, fun and informative. Tour Guiding is an excellent opportunity to share my love of PEI with folks near and far. It truly is one of the greatest gifts in life to share my love and knowledge of the Island along with its spectacular natural beauty with guest. I am also intrigued and interested in learning about my guests and where they are from as well as I find other cultures fascinating. I am a National Certified Tour Guide who is up beat, knowledgeable, and a professional in all I do. I always give 100% attention to my guests and will customize every tour if needed to ensure each guest's specific needs and desires are meant to the best of her capabilities. I started a career in Tour Guiding inspired by a trip that I took to the city of country music, Nashville, Tenn. , USA. The guide that I met was energetic and fun and very entertaining but at the same time informative. That Tour left a lasting impression on me. I knew that I could have this type of business in Prince Edward Island. From this inspiration and business experience, I began my Tour Guiding career 8 years ago and made an 18 year long dream come true to operate a tour guide business. My tours give visitors to Prince Edward Island an experience that will last and memories to be cherished for a lifetime. I truly care about my guest's and I deliver spectacular vistas, folklore, history, fascinating facts, and of course PEI'S legendary hospitality.
