​Private Nha Trang Eco-Tour: Basket Boat Adventure & Authentic Countryside Experience

Hi! My name is Thu Tong, and I’m a local tour guide based in Nha Trang. I didn’t start my journey in tourism — at first, I studied to become an English teacher at university. But after just one year, I realized it wasn’t the right path for me. I made a bold decision to take a gap year (which is quite uncommon for most Asian students) and moved over 1,000 kilometers away from home to work as a tour guide in a hostel in Northern Vietnam. That experience opened my heart to travel, connection, and the beauty of sharing Vietnam with the world. Since then, I’ve guided private family trips across the country — from the North to the South — and led daily tours in cities like Da Lat, Nha Trang, and more. I’ve been to nearly every city in Vietnam. What makes this job so meaningful to me is that I feel like I get to represent Vietnam — not just as a guide, but like a cultural ambassador. I still remember my very first travel memory as a child, visiting Hanoi with my grandmother. When I came home, my photo album was filled with pictures of me standing with foreigners — 10, 12 people at a time! I never knew why I did that, but now it feels like destiny. Guiding is more than a job to me — it’s a passion, a joy, and a way to connect people across cultures. I would love to share that experience with you.
