Hello everyone and Welcome to Washington, DC! As the first-generation immigrant from Eritrea, I have witnessed the term, "America is a land of opportunity". I arrived in 1981 and worked while I studied and graduated with a degree of Business Administration in 1990 from Georgia State University in Atlanta. After graduation, I came to visit Washington DC and I fell in love with the city and decided to make it home. Before I became a licensed tour guide, I worked as a concierge in one of Washington's premiere hotels and for over twelve years I worked with a tour company as a liaison with partners, concierges and handled all customer needs. My responsibilities allowed me to have un-limited access to the Washington museums, memorials and monuments. I have been living for more than twenty-eight years in the Washington, DC area continuously. My experience as a concierge, a licensed tour guide and extensive experience in the tour business helped me gain knowledge of the history, culture and architecture of Washington, DC. I grew up speaking my native Eritrean language Tigrigna. I also speak Amharic (Ethiopian), Arabic, and basic Italian languages. A domestic and international traveler myself, I know what is expected out of me. I deliver personalized engaging and fun tour. I want to apply my travel experience, knowledge and share it with you and help make your visit comfortable, safe, fun and memorable. What can you expect? In short, very friendly, knowledgeable, energetic and flexible tour guide. I make sure your tour is unique. I love to engage my guests by asking trivia questions and involve them into a scavenger hunt when they visit the memorials which makes it interesting and interactive tour. On my spare time, I enjoy gardening, playing soccer and basketball with my kids and I enjoy the family travel that gives me a chance to spend time together and discover new places. I am proud member of the Washington Area Concierge Association ( WACA ). * Lincensed Washington DC Tour Guide (Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs). * Former concierge and a current member of Washington Area Concierge Association (WACA). * Previous experience with a tour company in Washington, DC (ten years) * Graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Due to safety laws, children under the age of 5 years must have an appropriate booster seat.
