Historic Orange County Shore Excursion: Mission San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point & San Clemente

As an Orange County native, I've always loved its rich, romantic culture, including the time of the romantic Ranchos - and of course, the legendary Zorro! On this 6 hour private tour, I’ll show you the highlights of the historic south of Orange County, where early California comes to life. We’ll visit cultural landmarks such as San Clemente, a 1920's enclave known for its Spanish Colonial charm & iconic oceanfront pier, and the beautifully preserved Mission San Juan Capistrano, founded in 1776 by Spanish missionaries. We'll also explore Dana Point, a harbour town once central to California’s early maritime trade, where we'll go across its bustling waterfront as I contextualize you on it. As someone who grew up here, I'll help you gain insights into California’s past, from the Indigenous peoples to Spanish & Mexican influences that endured through time. With ocean views, historic stops & plenty of great stories, this tour is a fun way to experience the scenic charm of coastal California at a relaxed pace.

-After picking you up, we'll go on a scenic drive to San Juan Capistrano, known as the “Jewel of the Missions.” -On arrival, we’ll explore this historic Mission, stroll its peaceful gardens and ruins as I tell you about California’s early days. -We’ll then wander down Los Rios Street, the oldest neighbourhood in California—filled with charming adobe homes, artisan shops, and cafes. -Next, we’ll head to Dana Point for a stop at the harbour and some bluff overlook points, where we'll get some great coastal photo ops. -Then it’s off to San Clemente, famous for its Spanish Revival architecture. Here we'd visit Casa Romantica & its gardens and could also explore the town's pier with its ocean breeze. -At last, we'll drive back so I drop you off where I picked you up from.
