Got a few hours to kill before or after your Carnival cruise? Join me for a fun, casual walk through Long Beach - my hometown and one of SoCal’s most surprising cities. I’m a local who loves showing off this diverse, artsy, and funky place I call home. We’ll take in epic views of the Queen Mary, ride the bus across the harbor, and walk through historic neighborhoods filled with fun stories and colorful street art. I’ll share insider tales about Long Beach’s evolution - from Mexican land grant to seaside resort, silent film capital before Hollywood, naval city, LGBTQ+ hub, and now a rising arts and future Olympic destination. Long Beach has changed a lot over the years, and I’ll help you see it through local eyes. Meet at the Port of Long Beach, get pics of the majestic Queen Mary, and hop on the bus across the harbor to the Aquarium of the Pacific -a fun way to kick off the day with great views. Walk through what used to be the Pike Amusement Park, once packed with roller coasters and arcades. Head up Ocean Boulevard to see historic gems like the Breakers and Villa Riviera. Wander into the East Village Arts District- one of my favorite neighborhoods - full of murals, indie shops, and local flavor. Stop at Alamitos Beach for ocean breezes, people-watching, and a look at Long Beach’s quirky oil islands disguised as tropical getaways. Locals walk, bike, and chill here just steps from downtown. Stroll through the marina to Shoreline Village, a colorful waterfront area with shops and harbor views. Then we’ll hop back on the bus and return to the Port - with fun facts and local stories along the way.
