My life journey brought me to the area because I fell in love with New York City. I settled in Hoboken, a small charming town right across the Hudson from Manhattan, and have been here for over 20 years. I've been working as a New York City tour guide for over 10 years now, taking people to see the major landmarks as well as secret little spots off the beaten tourist path. I love telling stories behind what meets the eye - stories involving famous writers, daring architects, beautiful women, self-made millionaires, and countless other colorful characters. At first, Hoboken attracted me for its easy proximity to Manhattan, which I've been enjoying almost every day. But with time, I've discovered the charm and beauty of this unique little town, known as the Mile Square City. Tiny in size, it has the energy of a big city as well as the cozy feel of a neighborhood. This town features sidewalk cafes, streets lined with 19th-century brownstones, old Italian shops where one can get the best freshly made mozzarella on this side of the Atlantic, and a waterfront with breathtaking views of Manhattan. Hoboken was made world-famous by being the shooting location for the movie On the Waterfront starring the young Marlon Brando, the setting of the first baseball game ever played, and the birthplace of Frank Sinatra. I've always loved the energy of a big city but living here learned to appreciate the neighborhood feel - when your butcher knows your name and asks about your family, and the owner of a local restaurant is your next-door neighbor. I can take you around this charming little town, which feels like one of the City boroughs. I can show you New York City's skyline and point out its many landmarks. I can take you to Manhattan to enjoy a day of sightseeing or a night of jazz, secret speakeasies, well-made cocktails, and swing dancing. Living in Hoboken, one gets used to walking inside restaurants and shops adorned with Sinatra memorabilia that play "Fly Me to the Moon" on their speakers. I moved to Hoboken, the hometown of Frank Sinatra, over 20 years ago and, as it turns out, his family lived right in my neighborhood! In a place where Sinatra's presence is so palpable, I got inspired to learn about him as a person—specifically, as the product of an immigrant family who made a spectacular rise to fame but remained a poet of heartache and loneliness. I'd love to take you around Hoboken while sharing stories of Sinatra and showing places associated with the legend. Hoboken offers a truly authentic look at the experience and culture of the Italian-Americans as reflected in countless movies, songs, and stories—a source of endless fascination for people around the world. Come join me for a history tour and an authentic experience topped off by the taste of freshly baked Italian bread and homemade mozzarella.
Here are some highlights of our tour: * A neighborhood restaurant for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine to settle into the local atmosphere. * Two houses where the Sinatras used to live * Dom's Bakery - Sinatra's favorite bakery for many years even when he left Hoboken. * Leo's Grandezvous - Sinatra often ate here and his chair is still held in reserve. The walls are cover with Sinatrabilia. * Luca Brasi's Italian Deli - Typical Italian deli where "Food So Good It's Criminal" * Hoboken City Hall where Sinatra received the key to the city after becoming a celebrity * Frank Sinatra Memorial Park and the Hoboken waterfront with impressive views of the Manhattan skyline * Stevens Institute of Technology visit for breathtaking views and Hoboken history * Hudson Street walk to see beautiful architecture and a house Sinatra gifted to his parents * Elysian Park for more local history This Itinerary is can be customized and will depend on the time of the day, the weather, and, of course, your preferences.

It's a walking tour. Hoboken is slightly larger than a square mile and is easily done on foot.
