Come explore a fabulous city with a native and life-long Chicagoan. I offer many unique, off-the-beaten-path tours and can also customize your very own personal walking tour. Overview of your Chicago tour

Did you know that Oak Park, Illinois is home to the world's largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings and houses? Oak Park was first settled in 1835 and later incorporated in 1902. After the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 people fled the city to build in the suburbs. Rapid growth & development was prompted by railroads and streetcars connecting the village to jobs in nearby Chicago. Just due west of the city, Oak Park is a lovely half-day excursion definitely worth adding to your itinerary. Especially if you are an FLW fan. Let's check out some of the most beautiful buildings by FLW that put Oak Park on the map!

Your Chicago tour itinerary

- Meet me at the French Market at the Ogilvie train station: 131 North Clinton (Between Washington and Randolph). This is a great place to grab a bite either before or after the tour. - We will take public transportation (the Metra UP-W line to the FLW Home & Studio tour (IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO DRIVE, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO RENT A CAR - IF SO, I WOULD NEED AT LEAST A WEEKS NOTICE - COST WOULD CHANGE AS WELL) - guided tour of the FLW Home & Studio at noon (by an FLW docent), then a tour of the surrounding neighborhood - We will return by Metra train or rideshare, if you prefer (OR I WOULD PICK YOU UP FROM YOUR DOWNTOWN CHICAGO HOTEL IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO DRIVE) *Please be prepared and dress accordingly. Tours will take place regardless of the weather. Depending on the season I would suggest layers and possibly an umbrella. *Please allow at least a week before booking this tour so I can purchase tickets.
