Welcome to Devon and the West Country. I am Mark and with over 15yrs of experience in hospitality at five star level with a country sports instruction background as well as a decade in tour delivery I can deliver Devon to you at its finest. Full day private driver guided tour of South Devon's coastal locations, options including, The sheltered collection of the three towns that make up Torbay with their fishing fleets, Naval connections and WW2 links. Paignton's Victorian waterfront, the grand pier and pastel coloured sea facing hotels, Brixham inner harbour to take in the colourful fishing fleet and individual cottages on the hills. Dartmouth, its colourful maritime history, Pilgrim Fathers connection, Royal Navy links as well as the infamous seafaring greats that have passed through the town. Driving onwards to the South Hams coast including Slapton sands, Blackpool Sands, Torcorss and the hidden WW2 USA history of Start Bay. With fresh fish and seafood in abundance, lunch can be booked for you in renowned seafood restaurants or a quaint country inn to suit taste and preferences. An afternoon of further exploration, a paddle in the sea on any number of Devon's fabulous beaches and maybe time for a Devonshire Cream Tea to finish the day.
9 - 9. 30am - collection from your accommodation in the area, Exeter/Plymouth approx 1hr away. 10am - stroll along grand Victorian promenades where the aristocracy once paraded in their period costume best. 11am - drift across Torbay stopping at key locations in Torquay/Paignton/Brixham for interest, historic facts and inspiring photos. Off the tourist trail view points, secret coves and grand waterfront perspectives. 12 noon - cross the river Dart on an unusual ferry, included in tour cost, to Dartmouth. Maybe a lunch stop in the historic town and Naval port. Exploring the winding streets and river waterfront perspective. 1. 30pm - explore Dartmouth at leisure after lunch on foot with your guide to see key locations in the town. 2. 30pm - enjoy a coastal driven route to Blackpool Sands, Strete Gate and onto Slapton Sands where the D-Day landing exercises were practiced with tragic international cover up consequences. 4pm-5pm - return to accommodation/hotel or prearranged drop off point, station etc.
