Agatha Miller, later Christie, was born and raised in Torquay, Devon. Let me show you her home land, the picturesque places she swam in the waters of Torbay, peaceful village greens where she enjoyed cream tea picnics, not to mention the locations that inspired her novels and the character within them. Journey across classic Torbay waterfronts, taking in key locations, sharing the stories of her childhood, events that shaped her very imagination as well as visiting the globally famous family retreat, Greenway House on the banks of the river Dart, near Dartmouth. "Heaven in Devon" as she referred to it. Run and managed by the National Trust it is a well loved and thoughtfully cared for estate with access to the gardens, which date back to the 1600s and previous Manor ownership as well as the infamous Boathouse itself which features in many of her novels. A tour for Christie fans and those who wish to enjoy an informative and relaxed tour with lots of local interest.

Short journey to the area that suits our starting point for the day. - Morning visits to locations that influenced a young Agatha, the area of the family home, grand promenades where she was frequently scolded by her mother for impersonating the walks of the ladies out to impress. - Hotels where she attended parties of the shifting musical scene. - Walk along some of the Agatha Mile, a stretch of Torquay seafront which has notable points of interest. - Possible morning coffee stop in the hotel where Agatha and Archie spent their honeymoon. - Visit a quaint thatched village where Agatha indulged in her love of the stage presence. - Lunch stop at a steam railway station Inn where Poirot himself once passed through before heading down leafy green narrow lanes to Greenway House for the afternoon. - Return to accommodation 5/5. 30pm.
