As you learn more about the wonders of Turkey, you will realize that Dalyan is one of those magnificent places that you should visit. The area is not only famous for its natural beauty and the unique Iztuzu Beach that will be mentioned below, but also for the Lycian rock tombs on the cliffs overlooking the river. This tour will bring you on a unique journey through Dalyan and the surrounding areas. It is a uniquely beautiful small town unspoiled by buildings. The Iztuzu Beach, which is located 7 kilometers away, is accessible by a 45-minute boat trip. The beach is famed as one of the last nesting areas for the Caretta Sea Turtles. Between May and September, the female turtles come to the beach to lay their eggs, care for them, and finally take their young to sea. The last stop before returning is Caunos, the ancient city located near modern Dalyan. Caunos was founded in the 9th Century BC. Come explore Caunos with me, a botanical and historical expert.
Our van and tour guide met our cruise ship on time. The boat ride was relaxing and beautiful, and informative. The tombs were impressive. We loved our time at the beach, and the lunch in town was delicious. The only negative we have is that the driver Mustapha had an extremely aggressive driving style, and managed to hit many bumps and pot holes at high speed which made the ride uncomfortable.
While Necdet took ill, he arranged for a colleague to substitute and fulfill all of our plans and expectations for a wonderful day exploring a beautiful part of Turkey. We experienced wonderful variety, from the river and on land as we saw tombs, turtles, and enough vistas to fill an SD card.

- I will pick you up in the morning up in the morning from cruise port or from your hotel. - We will then drive to Dalyan (1h 18min approx. ) - We will visit the Iztuzu beach and see the Caretta caretta Turtles. (45 - minute boat trip). - We will visit the sulpher baths which is a unique and rewarding experience. (15-minute boat trip). - The next stop is Kaunos, the ancient city located near modern Dalyan where we will visit the Kaunos tombs. - We will then head back to Marmaris (1h 18min approx. ) * If you have a specific itinerary in mind send me a message and I'll customize the tour for you.
