Konya is one of the first inhabited cities in the history of mankind and still contains traces of many ancient civilisations which give it the atmosphere of a museum city. Due to its location in the middle of the barren Anatolian steppe, it used to be one of the most important trading centres on the Silk Road. it is one of the most conservative and religious places in the country and best known as the adopted home of Celaleddin Rumi, the Sufic mystic who founded the Whirling Dervish sect. Zeynep was very informative and detail oriented. We were impressed and learned a lot on the tour. The tomb of Mevlana (Rumi) was an educational experience, enlightening and enjoyable. Zeynep provided insights of Sufism and explained the cultural and musical significance of Konya. Konya is a clean city with beautiful gardens and well planned roads. The best time to visit Konya would be in summer. The ethnicity and cultural aspects of Konya are a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

THE MAIN SIGHTS IN KONYA During this tour, my visitors are going to visit, Mevlana Museum with my professional explanations about all sections. -After that, we will stop to visit the Tiles museum to see beautiful tiles and artifacts which were in an old historical religious school before. -Then we will walk to Alaaddin Mosque where a nearby palace is located, which was one of the masterpieces of the Seljuk Empire and the oldest mosque in Konya. -Then, we will drive to the village of Sille which is about 13 km away. *Sille Village: -SILLE AYA ELANA CHURCH: Aya Elana Greek Orthodox Church in Sille village is a heritage of former Greek inhabitants who emigrated to Greece in 1925 agreement.
