I am a tour guide based in Moshi, Tanzania. I born and raised on slopes of mount Meru in Arusha a get way to the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire. I am a teacher by professional and holds bachelor degree in management of social development but I chosen to quit all other professionals and engage fully into tourism professional. Overview of your Moshi tour

Moshi town is located in Kilimanjaro region in northern Tanzania at the bottom of the highest free-standing mountain in the world and the highest peak in Africa, Kilimanjaro. I started doing this tour because I realized most of client as they visit Moshi for next day safari or Kilimanjaro climbing, they need to know a bit of local people's culture, economic activities and having some souvenirs for their memories in Tanzania. What I love most about this experience is visiting local markets where several horticulture products from the valleys of Mt Kilimanjaro are sold; historical sites like churches, mosques and railway; souvenir shopping including Tanzanite (the gemstone that is found only in Tanzania at the foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro) and the dramatic view of the Mountain Kilimanjaro.

Although I zipped through passport control, Nelson was waiting for me immediately outside the airport exit. We stopped a few times for great photos (luckily, Mount Kilimanjaro was visible). Nelson also pointed out the different entry points for hikers who climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The Moshi city tour was conducted by a local guide, and we explored various areas of the city, many of which are unique compared to other places in Africa. Nelson was a very attentive guide, and it was a pleasure to work with him in planning for my visit.

I had a great time in Moshi with Nelson. I had a briefing for a climb that started the following day. Nelson worked around that issue. He was on time and prepared. As always Tours by Locals proved to be a good choice.

Your Moshi tour itinerary

The itinerary will be the following: - I will meet you in hotel/station by 09:00 am for pick up and drive to the center of town. - Reaching the town we will do a walking tour of the local market, railway station, churches and mosques for 2 hours. - Then after we will visit souvenir and Tanzanite shops before the visit to the coffee plantation located 3km from town. - Finally you will have opportunity to enjoy local food and glass of wine in local restaurants before you go back to hotel/station. This is a suggested itinerary but can be customized to meet your interest.
