I am a tour guide based in Moshi, Tanzania. I born and raised on slopes of mount Meru in Arusha a get way to the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire. I have personal connection with the place because I used to work as Mt Kilimanjaro guide since 2010. The trekking starts at Marangu gate 1850 m to Mandara hut 2743 m above sea level. Hiking in Kilimanjaro mountain forest with species of wildlife is comfortable enough, while inhaling natural air from the plants is amazing. Trekking to Mandara hut you already experience first two zones of the tallest freestanding mountain in the world as driving to Marangu gate pass through first zone (cultivation zone). After Mandara hut, proceed with hiking for 20 minutes to the Maundi crater rim. It happened to me once I was here and the sky was very clear, I got a dramatic view of Kibo and Mawenzi peak while down I saw Tanzania and Kenya border by far. . .
Your Moshi tour itinerary
The itinerary will be the following: - You will be picked up from your hotel/station by 08:00 am by your guide and drive for 1 hours to Marangu gate 1850 m above sea level. - At Marangu gate, your guide will do registration in a few minutes before you start your hiking. - You will trek up to Mandara hut 2743m above sea level. - Reaching Mandara hut you will eat your lunch in the designed wooden hut then proceeding with hiking for 20 minutes to the Maundi crater before descending down to the gate.
