I am a tour guide based in Moshi, Tanzania. I born and raised on slopes of mount Meru in Arusha a get way to the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire. I am a teacher by professional and holds bachelor degree in management of social development but I chosen to quit all other professionals and engage fully into tourism professional. I used to guide and organize treks in Mount Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru and safaris in Tanzania destinations of Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, etc since 2012. This day tour involves multiple activities which are hiking to the waterfalls, village and coffee tour. While hiking to the waterfalls you will be passing through residents premises which expose you into their life style and economic activities. Hiking trail is surrounded by banana farms, corn and coffee farms, and mostly farms with mixed crops. It is possible to find women with grasses on their head for feeding cattle because they practice zero grazing while you may find men chilling in bars drinking local brew. Coffee is amazing, by team of local guides with clients from pounding to remove outer shells, roasting, making powder and boiling ready for drink, while singing and dancing local and Kilimanjaro songs.
- Pick up at your hotel/station by 08:00am and drive for 1:30 hrs. to Materuni village office. You will register your names in visitors book and start the tour. - Start hiking through the valleys of Mt Kilimanjaro to the waterfalls while experiencing the life style of locals, their economic activities and local brew (if interested). Hiking distance is 6km round trip - After that, with team of local boys you will make and drink coffee while singing and dancing the traditional songs. You will drink coffee and eat your local lunch. Also you can buy take away roasted coffee beans/ powder. - By afternoon will drive back to the hotel/station. For the tours ending in Arusha clients can visit Tanzanite experience Museum in Arusha to get a deep understand of the very rare blue diamond that found only in Tanzania. Also you will be able to purchase a piece if interested.
