We did the highlights even though it was raining and very windy. Eleonor did her best getting us around town which was not an easy task because of the weather. Pastry & Coffee break was welcome rest.

Our tour of Gothenburg with Eleonor greatly exceeded any hopes or expectations we had before the tour. Eleonor’s very friendly personality and casual manner made us feel we were walking with a longtime friend. She was very comfortable with answering our questions in as much detail as we desired. My wife and I had engaged Eleonor for a private tour of Gothenburg thinking we would see more of the city and have a good experience. Eleonor delivered on everything we had expected and much more. Eleonor’s communication skills were outstanding, and her knowledge of Gothenburg’s history and sights provided an in-depth experience that few could attempt to match. If our travels lead us to Gothenburg again our priority will be to contact Eleonor for another tour. She provided excellent value on this first tour, and we have no doubt the encore will equal or exceed the original performance.
Eleonor was a wonderful guide with so much knowledge we learnt a lot about Gothenburg. We also had fun catching the trams and buses which meant we got to see so much more.
I am my group had the best day ever with Eleonor. She is so knowledgeable about the city and navigated us around in spite of challenges associated with the marathon. We saw the beautiful botanical garden as well lovely churches. She did ann aeffulgence blend of public transit and walking.??Our day was flawless and her enthusiasm is infectious. I highly recommend her.
My husband and I had an amazing time in Gothenburg with our tour guide Eleanor. Not only did she have interesting information regarding the city and sites that we saw but she had a good sense of humor. The day flew by and we said goodbye to Eleanor in the Haga district where we enjoyed a delicious meal at the end of the day. Eleonor is very knowledgeable about the city and you will enjoy your time spent with her.
Eleonor was remarkable in listening to our interests and tailoring our tour to make the most of our time in Gothenburg. Her wide-ranging knowledge and and engaging personality made for a wonderful day discovering her charming city. Thank you Eleonor!
At Gustav Adolf Square rises the statue of the founder of the city, King Gustav II Adolf. Founded in the beginning of the 17th century as a trading center, Gothenburg has always kept its international and friendly atmosphere. Lots of green parks and waterfront location, gives the town a relaxing spirit. Walking through the historic part of the city, passing by the Cathedral and Market Hall (inside visits if open), we cross the moat to reach the Avenue, leading up the Gota Square, culture center of Gothenburg. Passing by the Garden Society Park, opposite the old Opera. The walk continues to Haga, first suburb of Gothenburg, where many old wooden houses are preserved. At the top of the hill close to Haga rises the 17th century fortress Skansen Kronan. The impressive view of the city is presented from the Masthuggs Church, reachable by bus. Inside visit if church is open. The Botanical Garden is undergoing a transformation. The greenhouses have been demolished and will be replaced with new ones (optional visit).
