I am looking forward to show you around in Gothenburg and on the West coast of Sweden! It's my home district, and it's where I have been guiding tourists for more than 30 years. I have also been working as a tour guide all over the Scandinavian countries, besides my profession as secondary school teacher. In the Regional State Archives in Gothenburg, it's possible to do genealogical research. I would love to take you to the places from where your ancestors emigrated. I guarantee you a memorable visit to Gothenburg and Sweden! Authorized local guide in Gothenburg. University degree in Political Science, Local History and Economy.

At Gustav Adolf Square rises the statue of the founder of the city, king Gustav II Adolf, who founded the city in 1621. The Gota square, culture centre of the town, is surrounded by the Municipal theatre, Museum of Fine Arts and Concert Hall. From the Masthuggs Church, you will enjoy an impressive view of the town. Many old wooden houses are preserved in Haga, first suburb of Gothenburg. Thirteen ships are docked along the Gota river quay, at "Maritiman". Along the quay is also the new Opera House located. Only about 45 min drive from Gothenburg you reach the picturesque small town Marstrand, free of cars. Short ferry crossing. Marstrand was founded already in the 13th century. It has a dramatic history, for outlaws, but also as a trading center. Take a walk to the top of the rock, where the impressive 17th century Carlsten Fortress rises. Enjoy the view of the sea and archipelago from the walls of the fortress. Today Marstrand is a popular summer resort, particularly for sailors.
