Overview of your Colombo tour
This tour is full of natural beauty and historic heritage. I am a professional historian and photographer and I will be more than happy to show you my city! Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya is the oldest formal gardens in Sri Lanka. It is located 460 Meters above the mean sea level about 5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. Royal Botanic Gardens Peradeniya attracts approximately 2 million local and foreign visitors annually. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) was originally built by the Kandyan Kings between 1687 and 1707, in order to house and honour the sacred tooth relic. The low walls have simply carved openings that give a filigree effect, and are used to house coconut oil lamps and candles during festivals. We will also see wonderful view of tea plantation and production of the tea factories.
