For the very best food and wine experience in La Coruna, Galicia, look no more ;) I have lived in several countries and traveled to many, many more. After living in Mexico and the US, I decided to change continent and moved to Spain, my mother's homeland. I lived in Madrid initially for about 8 years before settling in La Coruna with my wife, who moved from the UK herself. I'm fully bilingual - I actually speak English on a daily basis at home as you can imagine from my family situation. During my travels, whether it's for business or pleasure, I always try to experience and soak in the local culture, of which I firmly believe gastronomy is a very important part of. I'm always looking for the hidden jewels known only by locals, apart from the well known, top-of-the-line places and renowned chefs of course. I believe a proper mix of both not only keeps a good balance but also helps experience the local scene to the max. On top of that, my family has roots in some of the best regions food and wine regions in Spain, Galicia being undoubtedly one of them. I also have very good friends and contacts in the restaurant and wine industry, which help me enjoy and share unique experiences, being made to feel at home when visiting them. I keep my own little wine cellar and enjoy cooking at home so I know what I'm looking for when I go out for a nice meal and treat myself. If the place is worth it, I'll go out my way to find it, try it and share the experience ;) I believe a day of sightseeing, discovering the town from a local perspective deserves ending on a high note with some fabulous food and wine! For the past 10 years or so, I've been lucky enough to meet like minded people from different walks of life and show them a good time in my neck of the woods with the only hope of turning their already great vacation into an unforgettable experience. As a result of this I can say I've been blessed to not only have met very interesting people, but also to have made fantastic new friends and stay in touch with them. Whether it be a very special day in town enjoying what other people only hear about; a private, specially designed, gourmet wine-paired dinner (often accompanied by the chef/owner/bodega); a day tour for a personalized visit to a nearby town and/or top winery (which on certain tours open especially for us) followed by a delicious meal washed down with amazing wines; or a multi-day trip to a nearby region including all of the above and more, it's all about you and the sky is the limit. I'm always open to suggestions, special requests and new adventures, so if there is anything you have in mind already, feel free to get in touch. I take a lot of pleasure in sharing this passion and will greatly enjoy showing you what this fabulous country has to offer for us foodies and wine lovers while soaking in the culture and sights from a local enthusiast's perspective. All my tours can be customized, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions I have a Master's Degree in Project Management and have worked in various different fields in my career. About 10 years ago I decided to follow my passion for food and wine learning as much as I could on an ongoing process while sharing it with friends, old and new by organizing different activities around them and haven't looked back since. I am not a licensed guide and will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments.

This tour is originally designed as a shore excursion from La Coruna. However, it can be adapted to start from Ferrol, Santiago or any other place in Galicia. It can also be part of a multi day or multi port tour. Personalized tour of La Coruna focusing on it's very interesting history and fabulous gastronomy. I always try to experience and soak in the local culture, of which I firmly believe gastronomy is a very important part of. We'll visit the "Torre de Hercules", oldest and only working Roman lighthouse in the world, dating from the first century. We'll learn about it's history, which goes hand in hand with La Coruna's history and walk around the site enjoying the fantastic views. Later on we'll head back to the old town and walk along the narrow little streets visiting the main sites while making our way to some delicious food and fantastic wine (with the possibility of upgrading it to a "Galician" Michelin Star or similar experience!) which will be waiting for us to finish the day on a high note.
If you're arriving on a cruise, you'll see that the port is conveniently located right by the old town and the parking area where I'll be waiting for you is just next to it by the post office's building. • Once we're together we'll drive to Torre de Hercules with a quick stop at Monte de San Pedro for the best city views. • We'll visit the lighthouse, where you can choose to climb it's 234 steps and get some amazing views from the top, or stick to the ground level where the views are not bad at all either ;) • After visiting the site we'll drive back to the old town where we'll park and continue on foot through it's pedestrian only cobblestone streets. We'll have time to walk around before enjoying some delicious food and wine at one of the best, local's places. • We'll then head back to the port in time for you to board your cruise and continue your journey. This is just a sample itinerary, which can be completely personalized to accommodate your needs and interests. Please contact me for more information
