I was born and raised in Port Elizabeth but travelled with my family across many parts of South Africa. My greatest passion is to offer authentic and interactive cultural experiences that contribute to social transformation of communities as well as growing the wealth of knowledge of our guests. Addo Elephant National Park is home to the Big 5 with 5 biomes supporting a diverse population of birds and animals. Join us in search of the gentle giants of the African forest and be awed by the scenic beauty of this park. This is the third largest national park in South Africa with a total land area of over 133, 000 hectares. Our tours are conducted in closed air-conditioned vehicles. You will be accompanied by an experienced and knowledgeable guide on your safari. Addo Elephant National Park is home to the world's densest elephant population, lions, buffalo, the highly elusive black rhino, various antelope species and birds.
We had a fantastic day with Sithembiso Foster, going out to the Addo National Park. Our ship arrived late, but Sithembiso was waiting and kept in touch with us as we disembarked. Being in a National Park you don't know what animals you will get to see--but we saw many fantastic animals the day that we visited. Including ostrich, lions, zebra, rhino and many elephants! We were treated to a barbeque picnic lunch and then more animals.
The guide was very knowledgeable about the area. He tried hard to find all of the animals in the park. We were lucky to see 10 with the most abundant being the zebras and elephants. We stopped at Jack's Picnic Site and he prepared a delicious meal. It was challenging because the temperature was about 110* F, but we were fortunate to be in his air conditioned vehicle. It was a fun day!
We had an amazing day with Sithembiso who was very good in spotting animals we would have missed. He even showed us the city on the way home.
Sithembiso provided a fabulous day tour of the ADDO Elephant Park and a wonderful introduction to Richards Bay. As a local resident, he knew the best viewing sites in the park and how to avoid congestion that can occur when a cruise ship hits town! We finished our day with a new appreciation of both the wildlife and the area's history. We also tried hard to pick up a few words in his native click language. Sithembiso, thanks so much for a great experience.
Wonderful tour with a very great Tourguide!
Great communication before the tour. Met us on time at the port with a clean, comfortable vehicle. Took care of all the details and gave us a wonderful tour of the park. We saw many animals in spite of heavy rain. On the way back to the port, we had an informative tour of the city center.
The tour starts at 08:30am in summer and 10am in winter. We will depart from the city for the South gate of the park (45min ). After taking care of administrative duties, we will start with a game drive in a closed (airconditioned) vehicle for 3 hours covering the South section of the park with a lunch break at a picnic site. We will then continue to rest camp at the main section of the park for a game drive in a safari vehicle for 2 hours (subject to availability ). We will then return to the city.
