Visit Slovenia attraction number one in a half a day. There is always good weather to go into a cave. . . a Queen of caves in this case. Not the biggest in the world and frankly, not even in this small country of 2 million people, anymore. Still, it's the most visited with over 39 million visitors over 200 years in business.

 A nearby legendary cave castle with a treasure is a bonus. Although I've seen travellers that preferred the castle actually. I'd just say it is like a cherry on the cake and yes there will be cherries in the story I will tell you along the way.

On a short passage over the lake in a "pletna" boat I might tell you the story of the princess and the sunken bell. Don't want to scare you too much on a bad weather day! we'll better talk about something else then, like . . . fishing. Or how you can reach the island on foot in winter, over the ice of course. After visiting the castle and the island you shouldn't miss the Bled cream cake of course. Some 12 million were finished by now in a country of 2 million population and I contributed quite a lot. Tour is created in a way to cover more places than the usual daily tour. We will see more but in a faster way. Expect a lot of driving and a lot of photo stops. You have an opportunity to visit Slovenia's largest natural glacial lake, to see the source of the river Sava Bohinjka, the Savica waterfall or to enjoy a bird's eye view of Lake Bohinj from Mt. Vogel. A short journey through the Bohinj Valley will take you to part of the valley called Ukanc. From here you can either make a short climb to be rewarded with an impressive view of the 78 m waterfall and to take a cable car to Mt. Vogel where you have the impression that you can almost touch the peaks of Julian Alps and our highest mountain Triglav. Also included is a boat ride across the lake to the other end - Ribčev Laz, where you will have time for lunch. The journey back will take us through the villages of the Upper Bohinj Valley.

Mount Vogel is a ski-resort about the lake and from there (weather permitting) man can get to a million-dollar viewpoint of Julian Alps and the Bohinj valley below. I need to remind myself of not to forget to breathe of all the beauty ;)

Baptism at Savica waterfall is one of the best epic-lyric poems written by our most famous romantic poet France Prešeren. It is a narration of hero Črtomir and girl Živa, who he loves in the times of violent Christianisation of predecessor of Slovenes. This is also one of the favourite poems of my mother and my name should be Črt, after the hero in the poem. But then she realized, that pronouncing Črt for non Slovenian speakers might be a difficult task. :-)

Highlights of Bled full day Tour

We will start with a short drive to the high plateau Pokljuka at Medvedova Konta. From here we follow a delightful trail through spruce forests before emerging at the snow covered alpine pasture, Planina Lipanca. Here you will see some traditional Slovenian high farm buildings and there is also a mountain hut where we take well needed refreshments. Our trip then progresses over more open ground before emerging on the summit of Debela Pec (2014 metres) commanding stunning panoramic views of the Gorenska region. With good visibility we will be able to see Lakes Bled and Bohinj, the Julian Alps, Karavanken Alps bordering Austria and south towards the Ljubljana plain. This is a truly breathtaking walk and a gret introduction to Slovenia trekking, suitable for active families and adult groups with average fitness and includes moderate gradients suitable for people of all ages.

I love discovering underground of Slovenia. We've got more than 12. 000 caves and I have visited a lot of them so far, also some little ones, where no guides are available. Parts of Slovenia look like cheese underground, it is full of underground breathtakingly beautiful karstic phenomena.

The Postojna Cave is a 21-km long karst cave system, a web of underground passages, galleries and chambers, which has in almost 200 years been visited by over 33 million people. There's almost no corner in the cave without a beautiful stalagtite, stalagmite, a curtain or similar. The cave boasts with the oldest underground train in the world, which we will use partly to explore this underground jewel.

Kras area is due to its pleasant Mediterranean climate and looks everyone's favourite area. It is full of sleepy medieval villages on hilltops, surrounded by vineyards. The most known is beautiful Štanjel.
