The jewelry of Resava county

This full-day trip will cover some of the most picturesque places in Serbia. Starting from Manasija monastery, which has been on the UNESCO Tentative list since 2010, and was the center of literacy in this part of Europe dating from the late 1390s. This outstanding piece of architecture has stood defiantly in the Valley of Resava River for centuries. Despot Stefan, the most prominent medieval ruler didn't choose this place for no reason. Slowly following the Resava River we will reach the Resava cave, one of the most beautiful and famous underground formations, discovered by local shepherds in 1962. This karst region is one the the richest regions in terms of geology. Approximately 4, 5 km long, and 800m is open for visitors. The cave jewelry, stalactites, and stalagmites are very colorful and rich in shapes. The last, but not the least beautiful place during our trip will be the Lisine waterfalls.
