Full-day Historical City Tour of Riyadh

This was a great introduction to the sights of Riyadh. Abdulrahman was the ideal guide- very much like hanging out with a friend. He also shared a lot about the life and culture in Saudi Arabia. The highlights of the day were the National Museum for a historical look at Saudi Arabia and the Masmak Fortress, the site of the birth of the latest Saudi Kingdom. Lunch was at an amazing traditional restaurant (I didn't see any tourists) where we sat on carpets and had a feast of traditional dishes. I highly recommend this day with Abdulrahman.

Abdul is an exceptional guide, very professional and passionate about his work. His knowledge is vast, and we learned a lot from him, from life in Saudi Arabia to the Muslim religion. We took the Riyadh city tour with Abdul, which was very interesting, especially since it coincided with the month of Ramadan and the weather, making the schedules completely different, with many nighttime activities. We also had the opportunity to experience fasting until 6 pm. We started at 1 pm and visited all the must-see places in Riyadh, ending at an impressive amusement park. The most unusual thing was that it even rained, which is very rare in the city.

We (family of 2 adults and 1 child) had a private tour with Abdulrahman. We discussed tour plan with our guide and agreed to adjust it a bit based on our interest. Our plan was to learn about the country (past and current time) and tour was about that. We liked tour very much. Our guide was a great storyteller (fluent in English) and provided a lot of information and we learned a lot. We had several stops including having tea/coffee with snacks, and traditional Saudi lunch. I fully recommend Abdulrahman ALZwaidy as a guide, as he was very professional, very attentive, very educated and able to provide all needed information. Want to say that Abulrahman was very easy in communication. We spent a great time and honestly I would have this tour again.

I had a free day in Riyadh before I began a group tour of Saudi Arabia, and didn't want to spend a day sitting in a hotel. So I turned to Tours by Locals. I was a little apprehensive at first, but I contacted Abdul, telling him I wanted to see things in Riyadh that would not be included on my group tour of the city. Contact with Abdul and the Tours by Locals staff was easy and timely. Abdul picked me up at the appointed time, and showed me parts of the city I never would have seen on my group tour, giving me experiences I never would have had. My day with Abdul felt like a friend was showing me around. I recommend Tours by Locals.

If I could give Abdulrahman 10 stars I would do so. We had such a fabulous private tour exactly tailored to our needs. We visited a Souk, the Museum, the Financial Centre, an authentic restaurant and the Old Town. We tried great coffee and food and learned about the history, culture and business of Saudi Arabia. All our many questions were responded to in expansive detail. A brilliant day in every aspect! Highly highly highly recommended - thank you Abdulrahman you are an exceptional Guide!

The tour was excellent. It was informative, entertaining, and very useful as an introduction to Riyadh and Saudi Arabia in general. We thoroughly recommend it.
