Hi, my name is Liviu and I am a licensed national tour guide living in Brasov, the geographical heart of the country and Romania's tourist capital, "probably the best city in the world", as many of the cosy open-air restaurants of the Old Town claim. About 10 years of offering guided walking or panoramic tours to large groups, as well as to smaller ones or families recommend my services, relying on quality of the information, flexibility or customizability and a "human touch", starting from the idea that what a tourist wants is both being offered a rich and valid story, and receiving a nice time in the chosen location. There exists availability for transporting small groups (3-4 persons)by car to famous tourist destinations within a couple of hours' reach from Brasov, to experience the glamour of Transylvania, so much appreciated by Prince Charles, among others, to enjoy the dynamism of the Romanian capital- Bucharest or to walk in the footprints of the Romanian Royal Family. For all these reasons, you are given a warm welcome to visit us! I'm a bachelor of English and Romanian at the University of Bucharest, and licensed as a National Tour Guide #2602. Driving license. As a Romanian licensed national guide, there are limitations to guiding inside some museums, such as the Cotroceni Palace or the House of Parliament in Bucharest, or the Peles Castle in Sinaia, in the Prahova Valley.

The Saxons settlers invited by the Hungarian kings in the late 12th and early 13th century in the Subcarpathian areas of Transylvania soon found themselves faced with the threat of Mongol and Ottoman invasions. The answer to this was building fortified precincts surrounding the church and offering shelter for the families and their assets. Most ethnic Germans, or Saxons, by their popular name, said 'Good-bye' to their homelands after WWII and the end of communism, but their citadels were left to tell the story of 800 years of German presence in Romania, part of the Transylvanian cultural mix, so much appreciated by tourists and Prince Charles alike.
We are very grateful to Liviu for the fantastic tour he organised. We saw many different places, wonderful fortified churches and tasted also good "Cafe Frappe". Thanks to Liviu we learnt a lot concerning the history of Romania, the Gypsy community and Romanian food! Liviu is very dedicated to his work. Although the tour already exceeded the scheduled time he kindly brought us to see additional places. We greatly thank Liviu for this experience and highly recommend him!
Liviu was engaging, knowledgeable and charismatic. He contacted the churches ahead of time to ensure that someone would be there to unlock them if necessary. I enjoyed every minute of the tour and wouldn't hesitate to book with him again. A real jewel of Romania!
I highly recommend Liviu for a tour. He is a teacher by training, and it shows - he has a deep knowledge of the history of Transylvania and Romania and he loves to share it. He also clearly has a passion for the artistic and cultural legacy of the area. He absolutely went above and beyond what we had expected and contracted for.
We start from the Clock Tower in Sighisoara (we can start from Brasov alternatively) or from the hotel and head for Viscri (Germ. 'Deutschweisskirch'), with one of the best-known fortified ecclesiastical citadels in Romania, highly-praised by Prince Charles of Great Britain, part of the UNESCO World Heritage, just like the other fortresses in our tour. The next stop is at Saschiz (Germ. 'Keisd'), with slender Gothic church dominated by a majestic belfry tower. Our third visit is at Biertan (Germ. 'Birthaelm'), with the largest still preserved peasant fortress and once headquarters of Saxon Lutheranismf from Transylvania, Our last stop will be given by the fortress in Valea Viilor (Germ. 'Wurmloch'), to round up our glimpse at this 'Saxon island' in Eastern Europe.
