A town by the Arade river, close to Praia da Rocha, one of the most famous beached of the Algarve, come with me and discover Portimão! For this tour, you will be guided by one of the best bird-guides in the Algarve (and the only one fluent in French). Portimão is the main city of the western Algarve and used to be one of the main fishing harbour for sardines. The museum is actually located in an old factory which used to can sardines. Besides being an important fishing and cruise harbour, Portimão is famous for its narrow streets and its animated marina. One side of the town is bordered by the Arade river going to Silves to the north. It was used by the vickings to invade the area. Let yourself be carried by the scents of the air, warmth of the sun and kindness of the people and discover the true nature of one of the most important cities of the Algarve.
