Hi, my name is Rosa and i'll be very happy to meet you in the Algarve, the southern most province of Portugal. With long years of experience and my certification as a tour guide, I'll make sure your visit to Portugal will be unforgettable. After leaving Africa where I was born, (came as a child to Algarve)i've always felt a great need to travel. It is to me as essential as reading a book. I love history, I need to know the past to better understand the present. Those were strong enough reasons to make me embrace the path of becoming a certified guide, a career that i've been building in Algarve for 40 years! I say building because a guide is like a walking encyclopedia, and we have to be constantly updated. I love the privacy of small groups, no doubt. On my tours you'll be comfortably seated on my own van, air conditioned, fully insured, and legally allowed to be with you everywhere in the country, outside and also inside the monuments. Only official guides can do so! And besides, a van can go to many places totally inaccessable by bus. However, may you need a guide and a coach for a bigger group over 4 people and I sure will provide you other transportation from 14 seater to 55!It is only a matter of availability and budget. My tours are designed to offer private versions of any of the trips available in Portugal or can be tailored to create a unique and very personal travel experience. Lagos is one of the most visited cities in the Algarve and Portugal, due to its variety of tourist-friendly beaches, rock formations (Ponta da Piedade), bars, restaurants and hotels, renowned for its vibrant summer nightlife and parties. Yet, Lagos is also a historic centre of the Portuguese Age of Discovery, frequent home of Henry the Navigator, historical shipyard and, at one time, centre of the European slave trade. In 2012, Lagos was classified as the number 1 travel destination, on a list of "15 destinations on the rise". On our tour, we'll be walking while breathing all this. Once in Carvoeiro the time is to be astonished: we'll be entering in one of the caves that is a perfect window opened to the sea! See for yourselves.
We had a wonderful time seeing some of the sites in the Algarve (our first visit). The coast is so beautiful. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the Algarve region and we learned so much! If you want to see something particular, just ask and she will customize your trip! We sure hope to be back again!

Departuring from your Hotel in Albufeira or Portimão areas (not duable in 4 hours, otherwise) we'll be driving to the west in order to visit the charming town of Lagos. Possibility of enjoying free time or visit the golden chapel of St Anthony and the ancient slave market ( entrance fee not included). Either on the way there or on the returning journey, i'll be sharing with you a fantastic experience by taking you to the interior of a cave that is a perfect opened window to the sea.
