My name is Miguel. I am interested in history, culture and nature and I like to share this passion with other people. I have a bachelor's and a master's in History. Professionally, I have worked in historical research and in other areas such as a waiter. Getting to know new places and introducing them to friends is one of my hobbies. My other hobbies include visual arts and literature. I have a bachelor in History and a master's on Contemporary History. I have a drivers licence but don't have a vehicle. The vehicles that I will use for the tours will be rented.

I invite you to join me for a walk in my hometown and to get to know the city of Coimbra from a very local, authentic, and scientific perspective. Coimbra is the city of poets and fado, of the Holy Queen and Miracle of Roses, it is the old capital of Portugal with a university that has lasted for more than seven centuries. It has a uniquely tangible and intangible heritage and is a cornerstone in the scientific culture of Europe and the world, and it is part of UNESCO's world heritage. We will start our tour in the upper town to see one of the oldest universities in the world and from there we will slowly stroll down to the downtown, passing through century-old streets, exquisite buildings down to Sé Velha de Coimbra, a true treasure of the Portuguese Romanesque Style. The tour will end in front of the Santa Cruz Church, where the first king of Portugal is buried. Travel through centuries of history in a concise, fun, and personalized way with your local guide, Ph. D. student, and historian.
Pedro is a highly educated individual, and it shows! My wife and I had a wonderful time discovering Coimbra, especially the University with its illustrious history. He imparted a great deal to our understanding of Portugal in general as well. Highly recommend!

Excellent tour. Knowledgeable and personable guide. Let me set the pace. At the end of the tour recommended restaurants and other things to see. There was a shortage of Taxis but Pedro made sure I got back to my hotel without difficulty. Highly recommend!

Where we will see the old streets, typical portuguese architecture, the Old Cathedral, a panoramic view of the city and other attractions. -The tour will end downtown and will be customized accordingly to your wishes.
