Kia Ora! My name is Asta. I am originally from Lithuania but have lived overseas for many years. Our family job situation took us to various places around the world, which gave me the opportunity to travel, to gain irreplaceable experience and master and speak several languages. About 13 years ago, I moved to Dunedin with my husband and 2 sons, and I have been working in the tourism industry ever since I came. I started as a travel consultant at Dunedin Visitor Center, but then I realized I wanted to be more connected with tourists and now I am excited to be a Tour Guide and to share the beauty of Dunedin with travelers from all over the world. From the very first visit, I fell in love with the beauty of New Zealand and especially Dunedin & the Otago Peninsula. This place has so much to offer, such rich heritage, breathtaking scenery and unique wildlife. I love as much as the rest of locals, our extraordinary lifestyle that our small but great city offers. Where else in the world you would drive only 20 minutes from the city to find yourself on a remote beach with unique wildlife? I'm passionate about the outdoors, and in my free time, I go for day-walks, exploring wildlife and nature. I do most of my touring in Dunedin, Coastal Otago. A few years ago, when traveling was on hold I decided to learn something new. I did a few beekeeping courses I have been a proud beekeeper since then. I look forward to meeting you and showing you the best spots of Dunedin - Edinburgh of South - Otepoti! -Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Teaching -Full (Clean) NZ Drivers Licence Class 1 and Passenger Endorsed -Red Cross First Aid Certificate -Member of the Pro Guides Association of NZ -Department of Conservation approved guide No restrictions

Discover the spectacular landscapes and wildlife of the Otago Peninsula on a tour timed perfectly to watch the world’s smallest penguins return from the ocean after sunset. Departing from central Dunedin, travel along one of the peninsula’s most scenic routes. Enjoy panoramic views across Otago Harbour, rolling farmland, peaceful bays and dramatic coastal landscapes while your knowledgeable local guide shares stories about the area’s history, wildlife and communities. At Hoopers Inlet, look for birds feeding and resting in the wetlands, including pied stilts, spur-winged plovers, royal spoonbills, black swans, paradise shelducks and pūkeko. You may also see northern royal albatross flying above Taiaroa Head and New Zealand fur seals resting on the rocks. The evening concludes with a guided experience at Takiharuru/Pilots Beach. After sunset, watch little blue penguins—known as kororā—emerge from the ocean and make their way towards their nesting areas.
Pick-up from central Dunedin or your accommodation Scenic drive along Otago Harbour and the Otago Peninsula Stops at panoramic viewpoints for photographs Wildlife and birdwatching stop at Hoopers Inlet Visit to the end of the peninsula at Taiaroa Head Opportunity to look for albatross, New Zealand fur seals and coastal birds Guided little blue penguin evening return viewing Return transfer to central Dunedin or your accommodation Important information Departure times change throughout the season because the penguins return after sunset. Reaching the beach viewing area requires walking down a long staircase and climbing back up after the experience. A moderate level of fitness is therefore required. This experience may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility or difficulty using stairs. Please contact us before booking if you are unsure. Warm, windproof clothing and comfortable, supportive footwear are strongly recommended, as the Otago Peninsula can be cool and windy in the evening.
