Herman is a great guy and tour guide. Showed us all the highlights of the area and allowed us to connect with some locals. Highly recommended.

My husband and I engaged a guide from Toursbylocals for our recent stopover in Walvis Bay, Namibia. Our guide, Herman, was knowledgeable and showed us many spectacular sights in his beautiful country, while filling us in on its history. He covered many miles, driving us around safely, giving us insider tips and then getting us back in time for our departing cruise ship. We could not have had a better tour! Thank you! We recommend him highly for anyone touring Namibia, stopping in Walvis Bay. His tour was much more comprehensive than any for which we could have signed up on board the ship.

Herman is a terrific guide. We highly recommend him as a very competent, friendly and flexible guide. He is extremely knowledgable about Namibian culture, history and natural history. He was on time and is a very safe driver who took us to all the places on our customized itinerary. Moreover, he was able to "beat" the cruise ship tour vehicles to each site that we visited during our full day tour. Thus we enjoyed uncrowded access to each site. Additionally Herman advocated for us to facilitate TBL's new complicated process thus enabling us to apply our Promo codes to our booking. Herman made our one day in Walvis Bay area very enjoyable and memorable.

Herman was not our guide, rather the business owner. Our guide was good and the tour went as described. My wife and I hiked to the top of Dune 7, and then plunged down, so much fun. The desert was interesting especially with the engangered, Welwitchia plant. Moonscape didn't impress me that much, I think the US Badlands might be more interesting ... just my opinion. Oasis and tea break was nice, and we enjoyed lunch and shopping in Swakopmund. The return drive along the coast (back to our cruise ship) was nice. We also asked to have some local cuisine, and he delivered with a place close to his neighborhood. We had some seasonal fried worms (we each choked down three) with a couple of other side dishes (polenta-like, some greens, and a dip).

We had a great day exploring the Walvis Bay area with Herman. He was able to combine two half-day tours into an 8-hour tour which met our needs. We really enjoyed seeing the variety of Namibia from the flamingos, seals, pink salt flats, moonscape, and the 1000-year-old desert plants, as well as the German heritage of Swakopmund. However, the highlight of our day was climbing up Dune 7. We highly recommend Herman for a great personalized tour!
