My name is Elvis. K. Nghimutina, originally from the northern part of Namibia which is formally known as Ovamboland. Born and raised in the town of Swakopmund, where I still reside. My introduction to nature started off early in the day as a young man with the responsibility of looking after livestock during school holidays. While animal behavior has become a subject of interest during my time off, herding cattle, learning about bird callers, and identifying animal footprints. After completing school I enrolled with Namibian Academy for Tourism and Hospitality where I have obtained my National Guiding licenses. For the past 23 years of my guiding career, I have built a vast knowledge of Namibia, Fauna, Flora, Geology, History, and our cultural diversity. Welcome to Walvis Bay and now that you are here, I want to show you how rich and diverse my country is. During these few hours that we will spend together, I want to show you true Namibia. From Walvis Bay, you will hear the stories of whaling days, as we wander the streets of this town, which is growing and evolving in every aspect of life, culture, and business. Next, I am taking you to experience the oldest desert on planet Earth, the Namib Desert. It is a very special place, its beauty is so special and so different from anything else that nature has. The endless lines of red dunes and desert sounds are something so different from anything else and are worthy of experiencing it live. From the silence and beauty of the desert, we will go to Swakopmund, a beautiful town on the coast of Namibia, and don't be surprised to see historic examples of traditional German architecture. Swakopmund is a city with a strong and special personality that you will witness yourself. Welcome to Namibia!
Elvis was the perfect ambassador for his beautiful and varied country. Two of us had been to Namibia before and we were excited to give our other friends who joined us a taste of Namibia. Elvis’ tour filled the bill perfectly!
What a great day we had with our guide Elvis in Namibia. He picked us up from the port in Walvis Bay, and we had no idea how vast the area was. We had never visited before, and we saw the Dunes, “amazing”, beautiful beaches, out to the Moonland Scape, and a drive throughout the area. We saw plants that only grow in Namibia, and Elvis was so knowledgeable about the geography and the history. Seeing the incredible flamingos everywhere and learning how they mine the salt. And the pink color in the various stages of the process of the salt mining. We also visited the beachside town of Swakopmund, what a beautiful and historical town. We would love to come back and have more time to spend there. But I would highly recommend Elvis and this tour if you ever have the opportunity to visit Namibia. Thanks Elvis for a great day.
Elvis did a fantastic job of showing us the variety scenery around the area, from the lagoon with flamingos, salt fields, Dunes, Badlands/moonscape and the wild Welwitschia and other native plants to the fabulous oasis for lunch. We probably should have walked around his hometown of Swapokmund when requested but we were tired and had 2 folks with less mobility so we just drove around and enjoyed a beautiful town.
Elvis was quite exceptional. The diversity of his knowledge for both his country the local birds animals as well as flora was impressive. We wanted to see some of the main sites yet wanted to avoid the crowds. He did this for us and personalized the tour at every opportunity. I would highly recommend Elvis as a guide!

This shore excursion from Walvis Bay was excellent. We saw the flamingoes and salt works, then headed into the spectacular Namib Desert. The dunes are huge and the desert is both desolate and beautiful. Stopped for lunch in Swakopmund at a brewery – a nice contrast to the remoteness of the desert. Namibia is a beautiful and incredibly clean / spotless country – highly recommend a visit and Elvis as your guide.
- Pickup from Hotel or Cruise Port (or any other location) - We stop at the Lagoon to view Flamings - Drive to Dune 7 which is about 12km from Walvis Bay experience the sand and can climb it to have a great view. - Head to the Namib Desert using the back road and the next stop will be at the, Moonland Scape,Welwitschia - Lunch (optional) at Swakopmund - Walk Swakopmund (30 min) - Heading back to Walvis Bay This tour can be customized, please feel free to contact me
