I (Gloria) am a native Moldovan who has a unique perspective on providing tours. I believe in giving more than just the historical facts. I give you special pleasant surprises that others have not taken the time to discover. Often times, this adds a human touch to the historical aspect. My education was mainly in Moldova but I did attend the University of Georgia (in the US as an exchange student). I have over three years of experience, conducting and guiding tours. I have given a variety of tours which attests to my versaltility and knowledge. My tours include historical, diplomatic, literary, and food and wine tours (Bon Appetit Tours). I also conducts specialty tours into Transnistria. Last but not least, I can offer my services of being just a tour guide that can accompany you or your family and friends in your rental car. Overview of your Chisinau tour
This tour offers one to visit a country that is not officially recognized as a country. If you ever wondered how people lived in the old Soviet Union, you can now experience some of that by visiting Transnistria. It is a region that was once part of the Moldova but when the old Soviet Union collapsed, this region did not want to be independent from Russia and after a four month bloody civil war in 1992, a cease fire was negotiated. The situation has still not been resolved but there has been no fighting and the peace has held for a couple of decades, now.

The tour exceeded expectations. The guide, Gloria Jigau, provided detailed information before the tour, arrived as agreed at my hotel, and proved to be an excellent guide to the several locations visited. She handled all of the admissions required and the transportation by private car. The visits with local families for the feast of local foods and a look into the past at a house museum of USSR artifacts were special occasions to see people as well as places. Highly recommend this tour and guide.

Your Chisinau tour itinerary
The driver and the tour guide will meet at a designated place to pick up everyone that is going on the tour. 1. Tour of monuments in Tiraspol, including statues of Lenin and other Soviet heroes. 2. Visit to the Museum of Transnistria, including information regarding how Transnistria came to be. Also history of the civil war, its currency and how its government operates. 3. Tour of the Noul-Neamt Monastery (former Pioneer Camp in USSR). I 4. Tour of Bender city and Bender Fortress built during the Turkish Empire.
